Hi, Listers:
My CLEMENT line is very scetchy so far and I would appreciate any help
listers can give me. Below is what it looks like so far. It ties into my
main line w/ my ggrandfather Joseph BAILY (1830-1875).
I have mass quantities of unidentified photographs of people from these
lines at my web site under "Unidentified People Pages" or "Mystery Photos."
Most lived in PA, IN, and NJ.
Thanks,

Hello All,
It has been kind of quiet on the List lately.
I have a few descendants of Richard Clement & Elizabeth (m.bef 1536) and I was wondering
if anyone would like to exchange Clement files with me?
I use Family Tree Maker so FTM type files or GEDCOMs would work for me.
I am most interested in growing my "older" Clement lines, but anything
that helps the members of the List would be fine.
Please let me know,
Ron Graham

I need the parents of James W. Clement(s) b.Dec.1,1824 SC and his wife
Clarinda Trammel b.Feb.7,1826 GA. She died 1908. Anyone out there
researching this family? They had at least 9 children, the last one
born in Arkansas. Thanks, Ellie

TIP: OVERVIEW OF GENEALOGY RESOURCES
September 27th, 1999
The article "Genealogy: Finding roots on the Web" is a great
introduction to the wealth of resources available to help people
research their family histories. Written by Thomas Jay Kemp, the piece
originally appeared in College & Research Libraries News. It features
links and also explains the strengths of each one.

I just received the following in a Newsletter from Ancestry. Before I
subscribed, I took advantage of the free trials. They have many excellent
databases that are easy to search. I know some people couldn't afford the
subscription fee so I suggest you take them up on this offer. Pat

We (Reese Genealogy) slipped to number two today...ouch....Voting ends
Sunday.
Please remember to vote today
http://www.webbieworld.com/ww/people.asp
Alot of people have emailed their friends and asked them to vote too
I appreciate everyone's help. I noticed 5 new genealogy sites that listed
themselves in webbie world. Maybe we have spawned some interest in the
creation of new web sites. I appreciate the 100's (litterally) of emails of
encouragement, I even appreciate the 3 or 4 which were critical.
Let's take this puppy. It's time to turn up the speed. Vote, get your
friends to vote...
Thanks

You are right David! It does get expensive. Many historical societies,
public libraries, etc. that would love to have as much of this sort of
material as possible available for their patrons just can't afford it...but
if we all chip in and can donate for at least a part of a roll that helps
these libraries close to our own homes improve their collections it doesn't
make it so hard for tight budgets. Some libraries with generous budgets are
willing to pay half for a reel of census or other microfilm if the patron
will pay the other half.
My best genealogy advice...make good friends with the staff at your local
library!

Tim Reese again....
We took first place, temporarily (until Moyra figures it out) yesterday.
You made my site a contender.
CURRENT STATUS
1st place in people's pick
2nd place in most visited
We couldn't have done it without ya.
Did you vote today

Remember to vote and vote often. Voting ends Sunday
People have been so kind, (yes I know there are spelling errors and yes I
know the counter wasn't working, my server was having problems, blame multi
media , now if they can fix the double entry in my guest book) Anyway. I
appreciate all you have done.
Let's not rest on our accomplishment. Right now there is a movements by the
computer geeks to beat us. Remember we are beating a professional web
designer....hehe
If your joining late here are some answers to the questions
1. How do I vote. Answer: Go to the link, find Reese Family Genealogy,
find the word vote and click it. That's one vote for "People's Pick" , then
click the link to our site that's a vote for the "Most Visited"
2. Are you gonna split the loot with me if you win? Answer: Well, no,
there's no money, but your name will go on a web page in my site that's
suitable for framing. That is if you can find a nail to hang your moniter
on.
3. What do you get out of the deal? Answer: I get to put a logo on my
site, similar to a blue ribbon at the fair.
4. But the other sites are better. Answer: Yeah but they give a handicap
in golf don't they. Remember I just do it for a hobby. The other's are
professional web designers with a staff of 13 year olds.
5. You spend too much time at the computer. Answer: Ok mom. got the hint
has my wife been talking to you?
6. It's too much work for the click. Answer: If you let me know I will
come over and click the mouse for you.
7. We hated your site, and I am going to vote for another one. Answer: Did
I tell you voting was suspended until October?
8. Ok, I will vote if you will stop whining, anything else I can do?
Answer: Share this email with a friend and encourage them to vote too.
Thanks again

Thanks to everyone we have made my web site Number 1 in Hobbies and Number 2
in the Week's top 40. Yeah. Voting ends Sunday, we are so close to
reaching number one. Can I ask you to vote again? Please?
As I wrote this Reese Genealogy was the number two pick, when you go to the
site you can vote by clicking the "vote:" button and you can have a second
vote by actually entering the site by clicking "Reese Genealogy" The second
part lists us in the most visited site catagory. Monday we were not on the
list. As of this writing we are number 5 in the nation.
Here is the link to vote

If you are new to what's going on here are some answers to your questions
1. Hey what the heck is this, will it cost me? This is just a web award
that is given to cool sites, no money is involved on either side. I just
get the right to put the logo on my web site that said I won the award.
Kind of like a blue ribbon at the fair.
2. Why should I help.
If your a friend, because you like me,
if your a genealogy cousin, because a genealogy site has not won before,
if your immediate family, because of threat of serious bodily harm
3. How often can I vote? Once a day
4. Is this cheating? No the official rules say you can beg for votes....
(grovel, beg, whine, whimper)
5. Ok, you talked me into it, but how can I help? First you can vote, and
vote often, second you can forward this pitiful request to your friends and
help me beg...
6. What do I get? Besides personal satisfaction you will get your name on
a handsome web page as helping win the award, promise.
Your friend, brother, cousin, fellow statesman, or son (hey mom , dad vote
today)
