I am looking for a Robert Clements who married an UNKNOWN Gulley in the
early 1900's. I know that they had a John Clements, and maybe a Robert
Clements. They lived in Saline County, Illinois.

My search has taken me to the 1600's in Virginia, has anyone researched
a John Clemens\ts imigrated to Isle of Wight in 1650, sponsored by Robt.
Blake and Sam Eldridge. Will share what info. I have and look forward to
hearing from anyone searching this era in Va. Thanks Gary
I am descended from Jacob Clemens (b.1816 - m. Margaret Hartman) of Spring
City, Chester County, PA, through his daughter Mary M. Clemens, who married
John Franklin Barlow in 1870 in either Chester or Montgomery County, PA.
I have been unable to find parents for Jacob or to place him in a family
group with siblings; however my sister just discovered a note written in
1930 when her family visited the Royersford/Spring City area, which states
that Jacob Clemens had [at least] two siblings, Garret Clemens and Henry
Clemens.
Any clues, information, or even hints from anyone out there will be
appreciated. Thank you very much. Elaine Jeter

Does anyone on the list have a copy of the CLEMENTS CD by Jeannette Holland
Austin on the
descendants of Peyton CLEMENTS of Granvill Co., NC who was b. ca 1730 in NC?
If so, could you possibly do a look-up on James DANIEL (1756-1853) m. Grezil
CLEMENTs b. 1772
m. Dec. 21, 1789.
and Woodson DANIEL his father (1736-1791)
We are trying to determine if this CD has enough information about our DANIEL
ancestors to be
worth allocating genealogy budget dollars there instead of elsewhere. Thanks.

Hi, Wendy! Glad to see you're still trying to untangle our Clement lines.
I'm working on John/Isabell and think John is connected in some way to the
Gloucester Clement families but I haven't figured out how. Mary Clement

I have a Ph.D. in computers. (Push here Dummy)
After posting my query last night, I did some serious surfing through VA
archives for any Clements. Turned up an interesting item regarding the
Ezekiel Clements, who d. ca 1746, had son and grandson Abraham.
There is a good proof of his origins in New Jersey contained in this
record, including the deposition of a former New Jersey neighbor.
If you'd like the details on this, let me know.

Can anyone fill in any information or leads?
In the 1680's, Rachel, wife of a Boulding, deeds land to Benjamin Clements
of Gloucester, and after Benjamin's death, to his daughter Anne. Why?
Benjamins wife is Grissell Coleman, thus Rachel is not his mother in law.
Or, did Benjamin have an earlier marriage.
Can anyone help with documentation regarding the sons of Benjamin Clements
and Grissell? They are said to be listed in Abingdon Parish register, but I
have conflicting information. At least one, George Clements was in Hanover
county before moving to North Carolina, per a deed record in NC. There was
a John Clements also in Hanover county in 1725, who is presumed to be the
same John as was baptised in the same church in Gloucester, but was a son
of John Clements and Isabell, not a son of Benjamin.
This John is also assumed to be the same John who died in 1749, and who
names (among others) his son, Simon Clements of Granville. Peyton Clements
is not listed in that will.
I have not seen any record to support that Simon Clements was a brother to
Peyton Clements, despite Peyton also dying in Granville county. It seems
more likely that Peyton's siblings were Grissell, wife of William Burford,
and Mary, wife of Edward Wade. Grissell and William Burford were witnesses
to Peyton's will; Mary Clements and Edward Wade had (among others) Peyton
L. Wade who married Martha Perkins (dau of Abraham Perkins and Cecily
Turpin), and Mary Wade, who married Thomas Burford.
Would welcome discussion from anyone... have lost many addresses during
the last 2 years and moves.
