Hi to All
Here's a Clements who is a bit of a mystery boy. (Aren't they all?)
Charles Augustus Clements first appears in Australian records marrying
Francis Smith in New South Wales in
1897. They are my husband's grandparents.
>From the age he gives he was born in 1866 and gives his birthplace as Troy,
NY. Father also Charles, a surgeon. Mother unknown. He spoke of a
half-brother called Antonio, and named one of his children that.
The strange thing is that this Charles was a vaudevilly performer - trapeze,
etc, which seems a long trot for the son of a surgeon, unless he ran away
from home at an early age.
An elderly aunt had a story that he told one of his grandchildren he lived
for a while in England and had another wife and familyover there. I have
been unable ot find any trace of him on any of the records, either in the UK
or in NY.
Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

I am new to this list and set out below my ancestors as far as they are
known to me.
My grandmother was Phillipa Susan Clemens who was born on June 22 1856.
She married James Veale abt 1877 in St. Columb Minor, Cornwall. She was
the daughter of William P. Clemens and Honor Gummow. William P.was born
about 1801 in St. Columb Minor , Cornwall.
Can anyone confirm the exact date of birth and who his parents were
and whether there were any siblings.
Thankyou.

This is a message from the list owner to let you know several things.
Once again this year, I'm flat on my back with my herniated disk again. I do
hope that the lists have been active and you have been able to help each other
out. I know that my efforts of the past several months have been slow. So I
hope that others will pick up, where I have lacked.
I want you to know that I do continue to write letters to get additional
information all on my lines. I look forward to your thoughts on how to
enhance/improve out lists.
Most importantly have a Safe, Healthy, Happy Holiday Season.

Hi Ken:
Have you ordered Mary Emma's death certificate?? And her brothers'??
This would give you a lot of information (assuming that the relative who
provided the information knew the information and got it right).

This looks like it could be my John Clements but I don't have his
parents or his birth or death dates. Copies of family letters that I
have claim he came from England, to Ireland, later settled in Augusta,
VA, and married Keturah Elizabeth Thompson. Is this the same John
Clements?
He was the father of males Roger, William, David, Gustavas John; and
father of females Ann, Sally Clements Hammond, Polly Clements Henry,
Elizabeth Clements Johnson, Susan Jackson, Bretty Hitt. Dates and birth
order not given. Does anyone have proof of any of this?
My relative was his son Roger Clements (b. Jan 1, 1762, d. 1825) who
married Hannah Hathaway and who had 15 children. Their daughter, Mary
(Polly) Clements married David Cassity from whom I am descended through
my mother.
I would love to know where I can find other evidence and correspond with
other descendents.

I have been lurking for sometime.I have a Gabriel Clements (my ggg
grandfather) who married Charlotte Richardson March 3, 1828 in Bipp County,
Georgia. I do not know when either when or where either Gabriel or
Charlotte were born or who were thir parents. (There was a Joseph Clements
who mairried Patsey Perkins in Bipp County in1834. What is the change that
Gabrial and Joseph are brothers?))Gab and Charollette had a son Jacob
Gabriel Clements who was born March 8,1834 in Rome, Georgia. Jacob married
Malita Elvira (Dolly) Odom in Oxford, MS December 14,1854.
Gabriel and Jacob are Clements names in the South. I have a number of both
in 19th Century censuses in NC,NS,GA,Al,MS and TN. I am wondering about
this> Do they all have a common ancestor? The turth is out there.

I am new to the Clements list, and I am looking for some help. I have
the
following (brief) tree and I am looking to expand it and push back the
date of known ancestors.
Gabriel Clements (b. ca. 1796 in South Carolina, d. 1876) m. Bersheba
McGee
Thomas Clements (aka "Drinking Tom" b. 1829 in Tuscaloosa, AL, d.
11-28-1902) m. Elizabeth Simpson
Alonzo Berkley Clements (b. 11-18-1852 in Tuscaloosa, AL, d. 1934) m.
Frances Dunn
Queen Ester Clements (b. 1856 in Tuscaloosa, d. 1928) m. Liston C. Bell.
This is a brief outline of what I have. I have some history that
suggest Indian blood in the early stages of the lineage - but nothing
substantiated.
Can anybody match up these names and provide me with some help?
