My father's name is Robert Frederick Clement. His baptismal record
shows this and his birth record. He was born July 19, 1919 in
Manchester, New Hampshire. I have just sent for my grandfather's
birth record. It shows his name as Frederick Louis Clements, born
August 18, 1891 born also in Manchester, New Hampshire. Not sure
which name is correct. His father was Joseph Clement(s) born in
Canada and his mother's name is Judith Marie Forrest also born in
Canada. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me.

"NELSON CLEMENTS made a gift deed to his "sister", Susannah Sangster, widow
of deceased of late, Peter Sangster". This was taken form the Houston
county, Georgia deed records, Nov 1830. In an entry just prior to that,
Nelson Clements was shown to have been the guadian of
William A. Sangster, orphan son of Peter Sangs"William just became of age,
Nov 1830".
I am looking for the ancestors of Susannah Clements who was born in either
North or South Carolina, c1786. One of her brothers was, Nelson Clements
(as shown in the county record) above. I believe she also had brothers
named William A. and John Clemets.
Susannah Clements married Peter Sangster. Peter Sangster was shown in the
1810 Sumter Dist., SC census with one female the age of Susannah and one
male that would be equal to the age of their first son.
They were in the 1820 Wayne county, Georgia census. Peter died c1829 in
Houston county, Gerogia. Susannah was in the 1830 Houston county, GA
census. Susannah CLEMENTS Sangster was enumerated with her next to youngest
child, Robert Sangster, in the 1850 Houston Co., GA census at age 65. In
the 1860 Dooly county, Ga census (adjoining Houston Co., Ga)
Susannah was shown with her daughter Elizabeth, Susan was age, 74.
Her location in this 1860 census was next to her sons Wash Sangster and
Robert Sangster and her daughter, Mary, married to Allen Howard (my g-g gp)
No later record was found for Susannah. (my G-G-G- grandmother)
Susannah CLEMENTS Sangster and Peter Sangster's children were:
William A. Sangster b.1809
John Sangster b. 1812
George Washington Sangster b. 1815
Elizabeth Sangster, b.1823
Robert Sangster b.1825
Mary A. Sangster b. 1826 (my great-great grandmother)
Any help will be greatly appreciated. I have a database of some 3,500
family names from that general area, that I will gladly share. About 175
years of family history there. Eddie

Am posting this to the list, but want to send Joy a public hug. (a
gentle one?)
As mentioned earlier, the children of Benjamin and Grissell were from
one source, and that was passed along at that. Thus, I am anxious to get
good critiquing on this. I think it is of value to many of the VA
Clements lines.
If you have NOT yet stopped to the web page, let me fill that in a bit.
Joys' chart reinforces what I suspected. It includes, besides the sons
I wrote, William (who d. 1760 in Amelia county) and the George, who I
find died in 1731 in Bertie co, NC.
What Joy does not yet know is that when I listed the children of Edward
Wade and Mary Clements, I got a bit lazy, with a couple more kids,
thinking that I had no clue as to where their names came from. Much to
my delight, her chart included the name Christian as wife of Thomas
Clements. By gosh and by golly, one of the kids I left out was CHRISTIAN
WADE, their daughter who married John Dalton!!
So, the exact source for the info on this chart would be of great value.
Joy, I have more concrete dates of the sons mentioned as sons of
Benjamin, which were said to be taken from the Abingdon Parish Register.
That list seems to leave out your William, Ann Clements, and George
Clements. IF it does turn out that my Mary was a dau of Thomas and
Christian Clements; and Thomas was a brother to your William, then Capt
Benjamin Clements and my Mary would have been 1st cousins. Which would
explain the link when Benjamin witnessed the deed for my Edward Wade.
So, what is needed here is to verify with a fine tooth comb those
entries from the parish register. It would appear from your comment
that Thomas must have lived long enough to marry (that would be ca 1720
or so). This also fits in with a note in a book, commenting that David
Wade (son of Ed and Mary) named a son Thomas Clements Wade.
to the rest of you, I am concentrating in one location for the moment,
but I have seenn a very striking fact that even among the supposedly
unconnected Clements lines, there is a great similiarity in the given
names. And I don't think it is just a coincidence.

Hi All:
I have just uploaded a family group sheet web page with what I have:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfisher/fgs/ben_clem2.htm
There are no links on this page to a pedigree chart or other family group
sheets.
This info came from a large wall chart I received 20-some years ago. It
references a book on the Coleman family.
I welcome input and criticism <be gentle> - I will add a page with any
corroborating and/or conflicting information!!
