I don't have a clue as to who my father's family is.. Come to think of it, I
can remember my Dad saying he was English, French, Irish and Indian(?) who
knows. My mother told me that my name<Louise> is from both sides of the
family. Except on her side...100% German. the name was Louisa (and it was
the middle name). I think the other Louise came from my father's mother.
I never thought as my name being French, isn't that strange. I guess because
of my German heritage. I don't know what to think of my Dads side.
Keep in touch.
Louise
Sally,
I'm sorry that I can be of no help to you. All my Clements are, or were in
VA I know some of them went to the mid-west in the 1800's, but don't know if
they went all the way to CA.
If I can be of any other help please let me know.
Don Coffey
Louise,
From what little I can find out some of the Clements left VA in the 1800's
and moved west. I am not up to date on all the ones that left Amherst Co.
VA. But I understand that they went to NC, TN, KY, MO, IN, OH, IL. There
were to many for me to try to keep up with at this time. I just started the
Clements line a couple of months ago, so I have a long way to go.
Sorry that I could not be of more help at this time, but that is all I know.
Don Coffey
Hi Louise:
I don't know if there is a connection. But, there are a lot of coincidences.
For example, I always think of the name Louise as being French. This family
of mine
had some French connection. I wish I had more information also. Do you know
if
your family lived in Toronto at any time? I don't think they were
necessarily French, however. But, they did marry French. And they ended up
with relatives
with French names. Let me know. Thanks for writing. Sally
One of my brothers is named Charles Richard Clements. Our half-brother and
the oldest four of us were born in Elgin. The younger 4 were born in
California. We do not have a Thomas.....My father was born in Indiana in
1902-1904....We don't know a whole lot about his ancestory. Could there be a
connection?
Thanks,
Louise
Hi and thanks for writing. I'm looking for the ancestors of my G
Grandfather, too
His name was Charles R. Clements and married Anna Marie Cadow of Toronto, CA
They lived in Chicago. Also, from the next generation up, I have Thomas
Clements
married to Martha and died Nov 9, 1911. If you have all 12 names perhaps
some
things bumps into a name here. I know I have little to go on. Sorry. Sally
Hi
I am trying to get information on the father of my g g grandfather James
Clements of Amherst Co., Va. My g g grandfather was born Aug 4, 1823 and died
Mar.13, 1924 in Amherst Co., VA. He married Eliza Jane Allen on April
28,1852. and they had 12 children. I am looking for his ancesters. Thanks in
advance for any help that anyone can give.

Searching for parents of William Irvin Clements.
In 1880 AL census (Madison Co.) I found William Clemens, age 26
+ L. D., age 27)
Effie, age 3
Robert, age 2
Josephine, age 9/12
and also in home was R.A., age 73, shown as mother in law.
I know that my William I was married to Laura D Payne so I'm assuming
this is also my William. I'm wondering if the woman, R.A., is William's
mother? Otherwise, why wouldn't it give her last name?
Can anyone help with William's parents?
Thanks
Cindy B.
Can you help with this query?

Hello,
Read your post regarding surname Clement. I am related to Marguerite
Clement. She married Philippe Plamondon on April 23rd, in 1680 at L Q
Prairie. Her Parents were Jean LaPointe dit Clement and Madeleine Surget.
Grandparents Jean dit LaPointe Clement and Anne Martin. I would appreciate
any information you have on the Clement name. Thank you.

I have a line that I have information on that includes Jabez
Clemons...settled in Wisconsin and then moved to Minesota...the line that I
have then went back to Wisconsin.
Will pull out my info and send it...am really swamped right now so will be
awhile (hopefully not too long!). Am interested in corresponding with you.

Philip,
My 2gr grandfather was William H. Clements b. Va 1825. That is all that I
can prove about his birth. He moved to Logan Co, OH and married Mary Watt 28
April 1846. Their oldest son James A. is my ancestor. A second cousin says
that William's parents were James and Jane Clements. There was a James
Clements and Jane Hatton m. Amherst Co., VA, 6 April 1824. My great
grandfather, James and William H. moved to Starke Co., IN about 1870. There
is a James and Jane Clements in the 1870 Starke Co census who were born in
Virginia and would be the right age for the Amherst Co. James and Jane. Do
you find the name Abner in any of your family? My gr grandfather, James'
second son was John Abner Clements - he went by the name Abner. I think that
it may be significant. Please let me know if you can connect any of this.

Hi,
I have just subscribed to the list and was wondering if anyone was
familiar with John Clements (son of William Clements) who married
Jane Mills Key (daughter of Martin Key) in Amherst Co., VA on 20 Aug
1787. Where did this couple go after marriage and who were their
children?
I have a John Key (b. ca 1776) who named one of his daughters Jane
Mills Key and am trying to connect John to Jane Mills Key Clements.
Thanks.
