Thank you so much for the information ... I am always happy to meet a Clement relative! I, also, believe that Thomas P. was the son of Anthony and Obedience, though I have no hard evidence. Thomas P. was born in 1818 ... Obedience died in 1833, so obviously it was not in childbirth (at least not with Thomas). Anthony married Rebecca just a few months after Beedy's death. This information was gleaned from abstracts of newspaper articles citing Beedy's death and the marriage of Anthony and Rebecca.
If you should com across any additional information I would be more than appreciative if you would share .....
Thanks again for the info ... I'll add it to my tree!

Although we certainly believe it to be the case, we haven't come across any
conclusive proof that Thomas P. was the son of Anthony and Obedience
Rogers.
Anthony Clement's LW&T did not mention Thomas P. as his son by name, but
Anthony did bequeath $1 to each of his heirs.
Since Anthony LW&T was probated in Weakey Co., TN in 1883/1884, you might
check the estate file to see whether it contains a receipt from Thomas P.
for receiving his share.
Best wishes, Don & Brenda Chandler

Ref:Thomas Clement, I am Suzanne Mays, the GGGG grandaughter of Simon Clement of Granville Co. NC and Rebecca Clement the daughter of Thomas Rogers. I don't have my books handy but I will tell you what I know from memory. Anthony Clement m. 1st Beedy Rogers and after her death m. Rebecca Rogers her sister. They moved to Weakley Co. Tn where they are both buried in Clement #2. Mary Pridham is buried in Clement #1 also in Weakley Co. Tn. Thomas P Clement was for sure the son of Beedy and Anthony. I don't know if she died in childbirth, there seems to be no record.
Anthony and Rebecca had several children, one being my GGG grandmother, Emma Alverator Clement m. to Francis Marion Gaylord. My Grandfather James Alonzo Gaylord was their son and my mother Mae Delle Gaylord his daughter. I have the pie safe that belonged to Anthony and Rebecca. Grandmother Emma was still living when my mother was born and she remembers G-Emma telling of the Union soldiers taking the hams out of that pie safe. I'll search for my hard copies.

I'm still seeking confirmation that Thomas P. Clement was the son of Anthony Clement and Obedience Rogers. I have (finally)found a marriage record for this couple and 1820 and 1830 census records showing a child in the right age category, but no direct confirmation. I have a reference to an obit for Obedience in 1833 and also for Anthony's subsequent marriage to Rebecca Rogers later that same year.
Please help!
