Hi: Believe I can help you Andrew Bowen Clement was the son of Rev John A. Cloement and Chrity matilda Beck, Andrew Bowen was a traveling minister/missionary and visited many places out west and ended up in Habersham Georgia. I have a picture of him and also as I recall mjy wife, whose maiden name is Clement< and I visited his grave a few years back, I need to go back in my files to see what other info I have about him and his descendants etc and ancestors. It would probably be easier to fwd the info directly rather than through msg board.

I have hit a dead end when searching for Andrew Bowen Clement. I know he was born Feb 1859 in North Carolina. His parents were also born in North Carolina. I have found him in the 1900 census for Bed Rock, Clear Water Precincts, Nez Perce, Idaho, 1910 census for Montrose, Montrose, Colorado
and 1930 for Habersham, Georgia.
When looking for his parents, I have not been able to find as much.
Any help with this would be greatly appriciated!

I am not familiar with your Jules, but there were clements in Louisiana, specifically New Orleans during the 1700's colonial period before the Louisiana Purchase of 1803. My 3great grandfather is Henry Clement (wife, Elizabeth) a banker/financier in New Orleans, whose father, William, was a financier in New York. One of Henry's daughters, Ann Eliza born in N.O. in 1801 or 1802, married in 1819 in N.O. my 2great grandfather, Benjamin Story, b.1784 in New Jersey.
They had 10 children. They died in 1873 and 1878, respectively. For added interest, they were all buried in the old Girod Cementery, which had to be excavated (and all bones removed and reinterred) to make way for the construction of the Superdome. Local superstition and legend goes that that's why the Saints never can win...their
stadium was built on top of one of the oldest cementeries
in the city! Not to worry, my ancesters rest safely now at Lakelawn.
I hope to hear back about you search. My Clement family, though is not French, though they married into the established French families when they moved to New Orleans in the 1700's. Possibly your Jules is a grandson of my Henry. Was he from France or just his wife, Anaise?
I'd like to hear from other Clements of New Jersey/New York and Louisiana.

I am not familiar with your Jules Clement but there were Clements in
Louisiana, specifically in New Orleans, in the late 1700's before the
Louisiana Purchase of 1803. Henry Clement (wife, Elizabeth) was a
financier/banker in New Orleans during the colonial period. He is one of
my
3great grandfathers of my mother's lineage. One of his daughters ( Ann
Eliza Clement, born in New Orleans Jan 4, 1801 or 1802) married my
2great grandfather, Benjamin Story ( born New Jersey, Dec 19, 1784) also
a banker/financier, who had moved to New Orleans and set up one of the
local banks. Benjamin and Ann Eliza married in New Orleans on June 18,
1819. Benjamin died in N.O. Dec 25, 1847 and Ann Eliza on
Oct 18, 1843. They had about 10 children, but the only one to produce any
offspring was my great grandfather, Brigadier General Henry Clement
Story. I am not aware of all the rest of Henry Clement's children except
for another daughter who married into the Pitot family ( James Pitot had
been one of the first mayors of French colonial New Orleans). Since your
Jules was born in 1857, possibly he was a grandson of my
Henry Clement. Was he born in France or was it just his wife, Anaise
Maria Doucet, who was born in France? My Henry Clement's father was
a William Clement, who also was a financier in New York/New Jersey. They
were not French. But they married into the established French
creole families in New Orleans.
Let me hear from you regarding your search. I would be happy to meet
other Clements of Louisiana and any Clements of New Jersey/New York who
are familiar with my line.

No, I had no idea - thank you for your hint but it may be another branch of the Clement family, as my ancestors had fled France some 200 years before, due to their Hugenot affiliations...

I am looking for any information on Robert G. Clement. I believe he was born in 1864 in Burleson TX. He may have had several brothers. He married Olive Elizabeth (Ollie) Middleton and they had a daughter, Jewel Ella Clement that married William Edward Brown in Walla Walla and divorced in CA in the early 1920's.
