I believe in Charleston. I have since received a LOT of info in this person and find he was born in 1815 instead of 1806.

Carl Gearhart,
I have been researching a Robert Clement & Elizabeth Provencal that died here in Kewaunee County, WI and are buried in Scarboro at Bunker Hill Cemetery. From your post, I believe that Robert is a brother to Joseph. On Robert's marriage certificate of 1890 he lists his parents as Raymond Clement and Julia LaFraniere.
Census records vary spellings, but Robert is listed in the 1880 census for Casco, Kewaunee, WI as Clement Dussite. In the 1900 census for Luxemburg, Kewaunee, WI he is listed as Lee Clomena. Other names and spellings were also used which have made this research very difficult. Hope I have finally found Robert's roots.
I am co-editor of the Kewaunee County Historical Society Newsletter and am writing an article on Robert and Elizabeth. Elizabeth is a grand daughter of Queen Marinette (The city of Marinette, WI was named after her.)
Do you have any further info. on Robert's family - other brothers and sisters and parents dates of death, etc.?
I would be happy to send a "rough draft" of the article I am writing or further info. if you like. You can e-mail me directly at: jgdopke(a)itol.com
Thank you for your time,
Jill Dopke
Kewaunee, WI
