Cecle Clement started his business in 1960 with the help of his wife, Viola Clement, and just one dozer. Cecle spent most of his time digging stock tanks for farmers. As the years went by, more equipment was purchased and trucks were added. This began the road building business that continues today.
Bill Clement joined his father in the family business in 1964, therefore, Bill knows the business very well. He worked with his father, side by side, until 1984 when his father's health concerns arose and Cecle and Viola turned over the business to Bill and his wife, Mary Lee.
A lot of changes have been made over the years. The business now does a lot of excavation for commercial pads, residential pads and road construction, as well as all kinds of dozer work. Clement and Sons purchased and developed a sand pit in 1994. This allows quick turns on sand and topsoil requirements.
With the help of their two sons, Kevin and Shane, the business continues to go strong! And who knows, grandson Mitchell Clement, who is 7 years old, might be a sign to help this family business be a success for another 42 years!

I am seeking any information on Prosper Clement, b Oct 17, 1831 at Pointe Claire, Montreal, son of Gabriel and Susanne Pilon. Prosper apparently accompanied his brother, Jean Baptiste Clement ( b Jan 8, 1815) and his wife, Anastasie Brisebois (b. Oct 12, 1812) and their children, to the Chicago area around 1849. None of these people are listed in the 1851 census of Lachine Parish at Point Claire, as would be expected. The rest of the family moved on down to Jackson County, Illinois around 1859, but Prosper apparently did not accompany them. Family legend states that he remained in Chicago. I have been unable to find any further information on Prosper and would love to hear from anyone who could shed more light on him.

Dear Ramona;
My Grandfather was Joseph Louis Arthur Clement and we all lived in the Chicago, Il. area. He was born on March of 1883. The Joseph you are looking for could be his dad. I would like to know if there are any connections. I am too looking for my ancesters.
Sincerely
Timothy Clement

Bible is currently in the possession of LaMyra Morton of Marshfield, Missouri who is not related in any way to this family. It is a large family Bible in poor condition. Front cover is loose, the leather is crumbling and in back it looks as though it may have gotten wet at some point. Some of the writing of a few of the entries is faded. This Bible does have photo pages at the back with nine photos altogether. Six are tintypes, none are marked.
A certificate of marriage in the center of the Bible has this entry: Dexter Clement of Central Bridge and Mary J. Maginley of Central Bridge [were married] on August 5, 1873 at Central Bridge by J. H. Heck, Minister of the Gospel.

Did you find the pedigree from Ralph W. to Gregory?
If not, I have the confirmed pedigree, if you want it. Cannot confirm link to Mark Twain, however.
Interesting connection. Charles Clement, recorded in R.C. Church archives, origin of surname. Clement I, Bishop of Rome. Phillipians 4:3.
Speculations made by others on internet. Charles is descendant of Clement I, disciple of Saint Peter, and thus of interest to R.C. Church. Explaining why he has surname and coat of arms a full 300 years before surnames and arms were accepted practice. (Although not unheard of in other examples of R.C. History.)
Obviously there is no way I can connect Gregory to Charles. However, that paragraph we found in the Stuart collection is not the only speculation that Charles "The benevolent" is progenitor of Clemen, Clément,Clement,Klemen family.
In case you are interested.
