My name is Josh Clement. My great-grandfather was Francisco Clement
(1902-1975). He immigrated to Essex county, NJ, from Oliva, Spain
1920. I don't expect any of you to be his descendants; I personally
know all of them.
His parents were Concetta Clement and Miguel Guitart. (In Spain, people
have two last names: the father's and then the mother's. His full name
was Francisco Guitart y Clement ("y" means "and" in Spanish), but the
people at Ellis Island, not being aware of this tradition, simply listed
his name as Francisco Guitart Clement.) He has two brothers, named
Miguel and Jose (who fought on opposing sides of the Spanish Civil War),
and a sister named Rosa. Would any of you happen to be related to any
of them?
No, his name was not anglicized when he landed at Ellis Island. His
ancestors migrated to Spain from France during the Napoleonic Wars.
(This was passed down by word of mouth, so I don't know if it's true,
but it would explain why he has the Franco-English version of the name
Clement.)

You probably already have this info.: Sauk County, LaValle, WI 1870 Census lists John and Freelove and family,Film M593.T9 - 13/7-1739 in National Archives. Freelove has been written "Freedora" in one record I saw. Don't remember where.
Looking for any info on Lucien Clement, possibly born in the United States around 1855. His wife was Adele (Lacharite?) They had one son for sure-Arthur Joseph born 18 Aug 1879 in St. Joseph, Manitoba. Thank you.

Have just picked up where another relative left off on the Clement line. I am looking for any information concerning the Toussaint Clement that married Sophie Carle, which would be my husband's 2xgr.grandfather. I have some info, but have had a hard time making the connection between the Toussaint that married Marie Louise Cloutier and Charles Lallement Clement. I can't find that thread. I would appreciate any help and give any in return.
