Looking closer at your question, I see it is regarding Capt Ben. He was married to Susannah. I am not aware of more than one wife. Susannah and Capt Ben are my patriots in Daughters of American Revolution.

In reply to your questions, it is difficult to prove the fact that Rachel Clement m: Hamilton Reynolds is the Rachel daughter of John Clement. However, Capt. Benjamin named a daughter Rachel, as well as Issac Clement. WE do know that Hamilton Reynolds was in Pendleton Dist. of SC as well as Wilkes Co GA. Unfortunately, the Estate settlement of John Clement d: 1816 in Clark Co GA does not shed any light on the since the Exec. only said all legatees were paid. Athens, GA is the county seat of Clark Co., GA ( also home of the the U of GA).
Hamilton Reynolds is the son of Richard Reynolds d: 22 Sep. 1784 DNA does confirm that the John
Clement(s) of Clark Co. is the son of Capt. Benjamin.
Unfortunately the lady who provided Mary Hannah Smith information is deceased. She was a descendant by marriage of William Washington Clement(s), son of John. All we can do is continue to research the matter. Unfortunately, SC did not require marriage Bonds.
Since we are discussing proof, does anyone have proof tha Jane KAY was the wife of Capt. Benjamin Clement. I think it is Jane Keatts rather than Jane KAY.

descendant of Richard Randolph Reynolds, supplied many of the wonderful photos
for this family. My direct line came down by way of Rachel and Hamilton's
son, Hughriah Reynolds, Sr. and grandson, Hughriah, Jr. My maternal
grandparents are also shown within one of the photos. Additionally, some of the
documents and photos were located by the very helpful staff of The Lawrence
County [TN] Genealogical Society.
Numerous Reynolds cousins and I have searched for over twenty years for
information on the family of Hamilton Reynolds. Earlier family members had,
thankfully, researched and documented various ancestors' information for us
to share.
Information on Rachel Clements Reynolds hasn't been as forthcoming. As
per John Clements' 1816 Will from Pendleton Co., SC (transcribed from loose
papers from the Clark Co., GA Will Book A, page 67), John mentioned a
daughter, Rachel Runnels [Reynolds]. Previous inquiries had not substantiated
that Rachel Clements Reynolds was indeed the daughter of this John Clements

I noticed a 2008 e-mail from Bill that stated:
The Clement/s etc. DNA project proves that this John Clement is the son of

Therefore, I'd love to hear anything further that has been located and
confirmed on this very interesting line of Clements and Reynolds. Is there
reasonable documentation that John's wife was Mary Hannah Smith? Thank you

Bill,
Interesting that you mention Richard Reynolds (d. 22 Sep. 1784) as the
father of Hamilton Reynolds. Can you give me anything further on Richard?
Was he located in NC, SC and/or GA.?
I've not returned to my research on this line in several years. However,
you and I spoke once by phone (many years back) with reference to S. F.
Tillman's assertion that Hamilton Reynolds was the descendant of William
Reynolds - despite the absence of proof.
As to the 2nd e-mail relating to a Preston Clement Jones............I have
another Rachel Clements (b. ca. 1718 d. aft. 1775) who was married to
Preston Goforth (1714-ca 1775). There was an intermarriage within this Goforth
line with a Cornelius Clements. Has there been anything further located
with reference to this Rachel?
Thanks for any assistance!
