Marna,
How about that!! Isn't DNA testing great!
You may not remember me, but I and my father are direct descendents of
Peyton Clements and his son Thomas of Granville, NC. So far we have
absolutely no matches and I am hoping for a match some time!
Thanks for sending out this to the list as I know that others will
benefit from DNA testing too.
Congrats on finding your roots!

Hello,
Recently my father participated in testing by Family Tree DNA. Although
his results have not been added to the results page of the CLEMENTS
Surname DNA Project web page yet, I have been notified that he is an
exact match with others on the results page.
If you have an interest, please look at the CLEMENTS Surname DNA Project
results page ( http://www2.msstate.edu/~jcc91/results.html )and see what
you think. My father exactly matches the people listed with the blue
asterisks by their results.
Here is what Family Tree DNA says about exact matches -
If you and other person(s) have matched in all loci, it means that there
is a 99.9% likelihood that you have a common ancestor. There is a 50%
likelihood that the common ancestor is within the last 14.5 generations
and 90% within the last 48 generations. If you and your match share a
"prior" item of knowledge, such as a common surname, then a recent
(within 14.5 generations) common ancestor is fairly likely. If not, then
the common ancestor is probably closer to the 48 generations.
My father is a descendant of Benjamin CLEMENT (d. 1780 Pittsylvania
County, VA), son of William CLEMENT (d. 1760 Amelia County, VA).
Any thoughts about what these results might mean for further research on
the ancestry of William CLEMENT (d. 1760 Amelia County, VA)?
Has anyone else on the mailing list been tested? Is anyone else
considering being tested?
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Marna

Hello,
Recently my father participated in testing by Family Tree DNA. Although
his results have not been added to the results page of the CLEMENTS
Surname DNA Project web page yet, I have been notified that he is an
exact match with others on the results page.
