Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Mary Ward
CHATHAM, Va. - Mary Rutledge Clement Ward, 62, of 235 Whittle St., died June
12, 2002 at her residence.
Born June 7, 1940 in Danville, she was the daughter of Henry Turner Clement
and Patsy Jane Whitehead Clement.
She attended Chatham Presbyterian Church and was a graduate of Chatham Hall.
She received a bachelor's degree at Randolph Macon Women's College and a
master's degree in education at Lynchburg College.
She taught in the Lynchburg City School District and New Lond Academy and
worked as Supervisor of Special Education for the Pittsylvania County School
District for 16 years. She retired from the education profession after 36
years.
She is survived by one son, Henry Carter Ward of Chatham.
She was predeceased by one brother, Henry Turner Clement Jr.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Chatham Burial Park
with the Rev. Walker Pettyjohn officiating.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Chatham Rescue
Squad, the American Cancer Society or Pittsylvania County Special Education
Advisory Committee.
