Greetings to all on the Clement mail list.
I have had a major computer problem that resulted in getting a new computer, and I have lost all the email messages I was saving, plus my addresses.
I am gradually trying to rebuild what I had, and at this point I recall a message from a researcher that had information about Elizabeth Fuller, being the widow of Jeremiah Clement, marrying a sea captain and being on the same ship that Pocohontas was on before she died.
Could that person please send me that same link or a copy of that information?
I had meant to print that and save it for my grandchildren to have when they study about Pocohontas, but like so many other things, I put it off.
I appreciate any help you could relay.
Thanks,
Barbara Jones

Message Board Post:
I found the following article in "The Tishomingo News" dated Wednesday, May
24, 1905. I would like to find out if the Abe Clement mentioned in the story
is my great-grandfather's brother. It reads as follows:
A TRAGIC KILLING
____
Abe Clement Stabbed in the Left Temple and
killed by Albert Johnson
____
KNIFE BLADE IN BRAIN
____
Johnson Hurries to Town and Delivers
Himself into the Custody of the Officers
____
Last night at a dance at the home of Z.W Winchester, on the Joe Kemp farm
five miles north of town. Abe Clement was killed in a ghastly manner by
Albert Johnson.
From the best information we can gather, it seems that Johnson has been in
a number of difficulties of late, and when was accosted by Clement with
reference to something he had said about him (Clement), Johnson rushed at him
with a knife and Clement backed away from him and secured a stick with which
he struck Johnson, when John plunged a knife into his temple, driving the
blade 2 3/4 inches into his brain and breaking it off. Johnson staggered and
fell backward and as he fell, Johnson struck at him again just grazing the
skin on the side.
Cement died before they reached home with his body and the physician.
Johnson went home, "changed clothes and came to town and surrendered to
Marshal Colbert, who placed him in jail here. Another article appeared in
the next issue. That article reads as follows"
" Albert Johnson Committed
The preliminary hearing of the charge of murder against Albert Johnson was
finished before Judge Gullett yesterday morning, and Johnson was committed to
jail without bail. Our report of the manner of the killing was correct in
every detail except that the dance had been at Mr. Thompson instead of Mr.
Wichester"s residence."
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has more about this incident.

Jerry,
I wish that I had something about your John Clement, b. ca1783, but I
couldn't find a thing. I really stayed mostly with my direct line when I was
writing my book. The Clement family in my book is not very extensive,
covering only pages 311 to 337. Agewise, your John would have been born
about the same time that the children of my ancestor, Adam Clement, were
born. John's father had to be a brother of Adam Clement.
Sorry that I could not be more helpful.
Virginia Jantz
As a descendant of William Clement (d. 1760), I am submitting my direct line.
