This deposition, found in the Allen County (in Indiana) by Diane Homola,
mentions my greatgreat grandmother, Elizabeth Clements Martin. I had been
trying for months to find documentation on Elizabeth. Many thanks to Diane
for sending me this!!
In addition, from the 1850 census (microfilm M432-99) in Champaign Co, IL,
the following Clemens were named:
Hannah, age 11
James, age 61
James, age 7
Lucy, age 48
Richard, age 23
Sarah A., age 26
William age 19
William, age 2
Also of interst is that Mary Ann Hixon (listed in the deposition) was called
Polly. She was first married to Rezin C. Martin ( an uncle of her
brother-in-law, my great great grandfather, Joel Feagley Martin). After his
death she married William Hixon.
I hope this info is useful to others. Again, many thanks to Diane Homola for
sending this deposition to me.

I will gladly share what I know about Judith Clement and her life - although it is not very complete. I descend from her daughter's husband, William Bowmer, through his 2nd wife. This is what I know about Judith.
Judith was married to Banister Bryan (sometimes spelled Bryant) and had two children that we know of, Eliza Scott Bryan and John Clement Bryan. John witnessed Eliza's marriage in 1817 to William Bowmer in Adair County Kentucky, and Eliza and William sold their share of property to John. Unfortunately, I know nothing else about him.
Judith in October 1818 deeded some property to her children (she was in Adair County, Kentucky) - at that time, Banister Bryan was deceased, and she was the wife of John Hammond. Banister Bryan died before Eliza's marriage in November 1817 -
Eliza Scott Bryan moved to Missouri with William Bowmer - then they moved on to Michigan Territory (later Wisconsin) and William worked in the mines there. They had 7 children. Eliza died in 1832 in childbirth with Michael.
Children of William and Eliza Scott Bryan are:
John Clement Bowmer b. 1817 (married 1st Betsey Patterson and 2nd Lenity Lorena Hayes - niece of President Rutherford B. Hayes.)
Anna Bowmer b. 1820
Judith Jane Bowmer b. 1821 (married Lysander Gilmore, a prominent Wisconsin judge.)
William b. 1823
Armilda b. about 1825
Eliza b. 1830
Michael b. 1832
I hope this helps. I appreciate being part of your message board, I am always looking for more information on these families. Thanks - Linda Hansen
Does anyone have any info on Frances Booker and her ancestors. I have the
will of John Clements her husband and it mentions other Bookers but would
really like to put together the Booker family. Also the Overton family that
John Clements will mentions.
Also need more data on Isham Clements that marr a Scott. Have names of his
children but need to know who they married.

Martha,
Is it possible to get a copy of the house and roadside marker? Can you scan
it & send to my e-mail--or are the pictures on a website somewhere? I would
really like a copy & will be willing to pay you for the copies if you send
them via snail mail.
Thanks!
Polley in GA
Jeanette Taylor Szabo, I need your snail mail address to attach to you data.
All I have on Douglas family came from Tom Peterson. It that your cousin you
referred to?. I don't show any connection in Douglas family to the Clement
family yet.
Do you know the parents of James Douglas that married Martha Tabb ca 1774 in
Lynchburg, Campbell Co., Va. I have his parents may have been John Douglas
and Mary Neville.
I need dates for your family and where they were born etc.
