Dear Ancestor
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

Diana:
My supplemental application to the Jamestowne Society based on
descendancy from Col. Edmunhd Jenings was approved. Col. Isaac Hill was
listed on the application as husband of Margaret Jenings and Susannah
Hill was listed as their daughter. That should be adequate proof.

Diana:
Your information tracts mine closely. I don't think that I can add
significantly to what you already have.
I have not previously been able to identify the parents of Isaac Hill.
What is your source? I'd be delighted if I could confirm that we
descend from Humphrey Marsahll.

LIKE MELISSA, THE FIRST OF
THIS years
high-profile viruses, ExploreZip is
a worm capable of
sending itself out and appearing to
come from a known
e-mail correspondent. The virus
itself arrives as an
attachment with the filename
zipped_files.exe. The body
of the e-mail message will likely
contains the following text:
"I received your email and I
shall send you a reply
ASAP. Till then, take a look at the
attached zipped
docs."
If a recipient is duped into
opening the attachment, the
virus will attempt to delete all
Microsoft Office documents
on the local hard drive and on all
mapped network file
shares. The virus will then
automatically send itself to all
senders listed in the victims
e-mail Inbox. It is so nefarious
that it can even delete the files
of a user whose antivirus
software is updated to defend
against it. Any user whose
computer is shared on a network is
vulnerable.
Corporations still beating
back the worm
There have already been
victims.
Three Fortune 500 companies
have reported to this to
us as well as a host of smaller
companies, said Dan
Schrader of anti-virus firm Trend
Micro. He said several
companies suffered serious data
loss.
The first time around this
virus infected ten of
thousands of computers, maybe
hundreds of thousands, and
did millions of dollars in damage.
It probably did more
damage than any other (computer
virus). This probably
wont be as bad as that, but we
expect a lot of damage.
Were taking it very seriously.
Researchers at Symantec say
nine of their Fortune 500
clients have already been
victimized by the worm, and they
expect it to spread even more
quickly as tomorrows
business day begins.

--------------4E5C061C4A732EC184FE0C5F--
I am in the process of scanning all my old photos and burning them on a CD.
I intend to include a mystery gallery section for those unknown photos.
Next I plan to do a mass reproduction and mailing of the CD's to family
members with computers to see what else I can shake loose from the
relatives. <big grin>
Just before my parents died, my mother gave me a huge stack
of photos and negatives that she had accumulated over her
life span, of both hers and my father's side of the family.
Growing up with these pictures, I had been told who they
were, but like most kids, all the names did not sink into my
young mind.
I didn't start to go through the many photos until months
after both parents died. Much to disgust there were many of
the old, yellowed ones that I did not recognize. There are
no writing on the front or back to say just who these people
were. I guess the thinking was that we were told at one
time, or that any identifying notes were written on the
album page next to the picture. Now that there is no album,
the is no identification.
These photos now are neatly stored in my "Unidentified"
drawer with not a lot of hopes that I will ever know who
these people are that my mom thought enough of to save their
photos.
Now just recently I received some more photos from a first
cousin. Luckily I knew most of the persons on these photos,
but there were hardly any that were identified. Hopefully
she and I can communicate with each other to right there
individuals.
The point that I make with this message is, that I know that
I am not alone with this problem. I appeal to each and all
of you... Please take the time and sat right down and for
that photos that have no identification on them, write as
much information about the subjects of the photo as you can
on the back of each. Don't assume that everyone else knows
the person on the picture. My parents did that. Back when
families were more close knit, everyone knew. As spread out
as we are now, your daughter may not even know your uncle
George.

Maybe the "unknowns" could be loaded on a web page. Others may be able to
help identify them.

A woman boarded a bus with nine children in tow.
The conductor asked their ages, and the woman said, "Those
three are ten,
these are eight, and the last three are four."
The conductor said, "Do you always get three every time?"
The woman said, "Oh, no. Sometimes we don't get any at
all."
