Anyone who can help with information or want information let me know. Thank
you Marna for giving us all this chance to learn about the Clement Family.
Hi Cindy,
Does your Stella Clement MITCHELL who married John Fuller HUBBARD (son of
Hezekiah HUBBARD, son of Keziah PIGG, daughter of Ann Clement, daughter of
William CLEMENT (d. 1760 Amelia Co, VA)) connect back to the same CLEMENT
family - or is that just a coincidence?
Marna
Hi,
My name is Cynthia Hubbard Headen "Cindy". I have just subscribed to your
group (researching the descendents of William Clement). My connection to
the "family" is included in this e-mail. I look forward to sharing
information with anyone researching the same "branch" of the family tree as
me.
Cindy
Here is my connection to William Clement:
William Clement m. Anne ?
Anne Clement m. John Pigg
Keziah Pigg m. John Hubbard
Hezekiah Hubbard m. Susanna "Sukey" Fuller
Here it becomes a little "entangled", since I descend through several
lines.
I descend through two of Hezekiah's sons, John Fuller and Franklin Clement.
Franklin Clement Hubbard m. Sarah Letitia Fuller
Joseph Pinckney Hubbard m. (2) Alva Marion Arnn
Lucille Arnn Hubbard m. ( annulled) Lloyd "Gilbert" Hubbard
Cecil Hubbard m. Gladys Wells (my father's parents)
John Fuller Hubbard m. Stella Clement Mitchell
Again, I descend through the lines of two children, Mary Ann and Montezuma
Mary Ann Hubbard m. Isaac Clay Arnn
Marion Alva Arnn m. Joseph Pinckney Hubbard
Lucille Arnn Hubbard m.(annulled) Lloyd "Gilbert" Hubbard
Cecil Hubbard m. Gladys Wells (my father's parents)
Montezuma m. (2) Emma J. Walker
Lloyd "Gilbert" Hubbard m.(annulled) Lucille Arnn Hubbard
Cecil Hubbard m. Gladys Wells (my father's parents)
I have traced William's line back to Sir Geoffrey Clement born in Oxford,
Eng. and died in England 1609. He married Elizabeth Fuller daughter of Sir
Cuthbert Fuller (son of Sir Nicholas Fuller). Most of this genealogy is
conjecture loosely based on facts.
My information on the family from Anne Clement Pigg to present is more
reliable and better documented than that from William Clement back to Sir
Geoffrey.
Thanks for any assistance given and information shared,
Cindy

Hello,
Just a quick note to let you know that Donna White (phink(a)primenet.com) has
unsubscribed from this list. Apparently she received inaccurate
information that connected her to our CLEMENT line. She posted a lineage
to this list on 19 Sep 1998 and has since learned that it is not factual.
I wanted to make sure that you knew so that no one would rely on the
information she posted.
Sincerely,
Marna

Tom:
Sure glad to see your listing from Adam Clements, son of Captain Benjamin. I have greater than 3900 name in my
family tree, and the tree so far has been very slim at the top. I have entered your list from Adam down to yourself in my
data base, The Family Tree Maker by Borderbund.
In that you have not spent much time relative to the Clement/s, and if you have a program that accepts GEDCOM, we
might swap files. I would also extend this invitation to others that might be reading this. My tree include many from
Alabama, and also the Bynum family of North Alabama(Oneonta).
Let me know what you have and how we can get together.

Hello members
I haven't been able to reply to many of your email to me. I have in
the last month been ill, had my student teacher leave, and our network
at school was down for 5 days. I apologize and will get to those other
discussions as soon as possible.
To Tom Alquist- Welcome
I would be very interested in your cemetery listings. I visited
Oakdale 3 years ago. Mrs. Mosebrook is a wonderful lady who graciously
opened her home to my mother and me. The cemetery is very overgrown
now due to her age, but she used to keep it cleaned up. The house is
also in dire need of help, but this family doesn't have the means to
keep it up. It must have been quite a show place in its day.
Mrs. Mosebrook is a fountain of info on the last group of Clements.
She wrote a nice piece for the Campbell Co.'s Hst. Society She
provides inscriptions from the cemetery but I would like to compare
them with yours.
The wrought iron fence surrounding the larger portion of the grounds
was placed there by a friend of "Major"
Adam Clements (1826 - 1915). this person had a general store in
Lynchburg and the fence was the railing on the
building. A few years back Mrs. Mosebrook was conducting a tour of
the cemetery for the Hst. Society. One of the ladies recognized the
railing from her grandfather's store and had always wondered what had
happened to it when he retired from the business. The children of Geo.
W. Clement's children are not included in the fenced area.
More on Clements later

Hi:
I am new to the list so I'll briefly describe my descent.
Benjamin Clement 1705-1780 and Susannah Hill
Adam Clement 1738-1813 (Campbell Co VA) and Agnes Johnson
Adam Clement Jr May 25 1782-Jan 1 1858 and Nancy Alexander May 8, 1774-Nov 15
1854 (dates from Clement Cemetery-Vineland/Oakdale)
Mary AC Clement 1830-1886 and George W Jennings
Nannie Catherine Jennings 1855-1893 and Jesse Howard Jones 1851-1900
(after Nannie Catherine's death Jesse married her cousin Cornelia Emma Clement
of Pittsylvania CO)
Thomas Bain Jones 1874-1938 and Lady St Clair 1879-1951 (she died in
Tuscaloosa AL)
Edith McDonna Jones 1910-1965 and Frank Ebert Louis Almquist 1910-1982 (he was
from Quebec) all other births and deaths were in Campbell County except my
parent's deaths
Thomas Werner Almquist 1944- me (born in Ohio live in California)
I have read most of the previous postings and have learned much. Although I
have had/known the Clement line for sometime I have done little with it. Most
of my work has been on the JONES/BOLLING/STITH line that comes from Jesse
Howard Jones.
I read someone make reference to the burial place of Adam Clement 1738-1813.
It is my understanding that he is buried at Oakdale. When Adam Jr had the
place it was called Vineland. It is located in the Gladys area of Campbell Co
( about 20 SE of Lynchburg) on Molley's Creek. There is a Cemetery on the
property and I have about 10 or 15 inscriptions from it. These were taken in
the 1930's, although most of the graves are still there and readable. I don't
know the exact location, but OAKDALE is still standing and it is between rt 24
and rt 29, The property was purchased by Mr and Mrs Roy Mosebrook in 1954. I
haven't been to Campbell Co since I was a small child, and don't remember it.
If it would be of help to others I will post the Clement Cemetery Listings,
let me know
Regards
