Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
HI!
Like me, most of you are working on finding your "roots" and in the
process, you search local libraries, the internet, magazines, etc.
Well, you and I both know when you do that, you end up on "mailing
lists" and all other manner of things. One thing to beware of now is
that "someone" is gathering these names, and has set up a phony
inheritance scam. To be more aware of what it involves, please check
this website:
htt://www.usps.gov/postalinspectors/inherit.htm
I wanted to share this with you, in case you hadn't heard about it
from anyone else.
And for those of you who wondered why I'd been so silent lately, my
modem died and had to be buried properly.
I don't know if you have already received this information, or if you
have any interest in the counties listed, but thought I'd pass this
along. You never know when just the right URL will get what you've been
searching for!
Happy Hunting
Donna

Hello List
I just want to let everyone who has ancestors from Vigo, Sullivan, Clay
and Greene county in Indiana, that a very nice person by the name of Jan
is starting a genealogy column in her daily, on line, news. Anyone who
is interested please read below:
<Help us spread the word....have your friends sign up. Just send
<an email to us at <mailto:sysop@hometown.net> and say "SUBSCRIBE"
< Feel free to forward this to whomever you would like
< and tell them to subscribe
Use this same e-mail addy to send in a post to find that ancestor...you
know, the one that seems to have appeared from nowhere. Also you can
read the local news, receipes and good humor.
Rose
I've found lots more Clem's but don't know how they fit into the
family. The ones I know fit are:
James Edward Clem wife Clarice Belle Lee (parents)
Charles Edward Clem wife Ruby Beatrice Ebbert (grandparents)
Simeon Clem wife Clara Craig (great grandparents)
C. Edward Clem wife S. Elizabeth Craig (brother of Simeon sister of
Clara)
S. Boyd Clem (grandfather's brother)
Joseph P. Clem wife Elsie Stephens (grandfather's brother)
Grace Naomi Clem married Clarence Ray Whitehead (daughter of E. Edward
and S. Elizabeth)
etc.
Ones found in the cemeteries, but no knowledge of whether or how they
fit into the genealogy:
Jacob A. (1864 - 1932) & Rebecca A. Clem (1864 - 1936)
Russell (1901 - 1969) & Marie Clem (1904 - 1971)
LeRoy (1921 - 1992)
Walter (1925 - 1966)
Edward C. (1931 - 1952)
William H. (1881 - 1968) & wife # 1 Della M. (1877 - 1921) and wife # 2
Gertrude (1893 - 1966)
Benjamin E (1862 - 1940) and wife Sarah E (1862 - 1948)
Violet 1898 - 1963
Cort 1899 - 1968
Margie A 1928 - 1992
Anna Virgie 1892 - 1894
Loran Adam 1896 - 1897
Maudy May 1887 - 1897
Anna C. Clem d 1851
Salina Clem (unknown dates - tombstone unreadable)
Gabriel, son of Isaac & Mary 5-25-1854 9y4d
Mary, wife of Isaac d 1-22-1898 88y2m
Isaac, 10-20-1872 68y1m4d
Eranges (hard to decipher - haven't done rubbing yet) wife of James
Goodman, daughter of Isaac & Mary Clem
Lots more, but do you know these people, and if so, do they work into
the same genealogy? Seems hard to believe so many Clems in such a small
area not to be related!
Thanks!
Donna (clem) Arthur

Not necessarily a CRAIG or CLEM thing, but something perhaps we should
all look at seriously. Another piece of history is in serious threat.

Dear Lee Cousins:
I know that this is not a direct Bradshaw family
inquiry but please read the following message I
received on another mail list. I believe that any who
have an interest in the Civil War or preserving the
burial grounds of our ancestors will agree with the
website and sign a petition to keep the only Civil War
battlefield in Ohio protected from becoming a gravel
pit.
Debbi
Dear Friends,
I have just read and signed the online petition:
"Save Ohio's Civil War Battlefield : Buffington Island
" hosted on the web by PetitionOnline.com, the free
online petition service, at:
http://www.petitiononline.com/Buff/petition.html
I personally agree with what this petition says, and I
think you might agree, too. If you can spare a
moment, please take a look, and consider signing
yourself.
