I have Clelands from Newberry, SC! My great grandfather was William
Lafayette Cleland b 7 Sept 1854. I feel sure his father was Carry Cleland,
but I cannot find Carry's father. He doesn't seem to be related to any of
the Clelands I have found in Newberry. He died before 1860 because his wife
and children show up in the Pickens census with the wife being married to
another man. I am most interested in learning what you have found.
Thank you for contacting me.

in the Lauren's Dist. I have a question on possible relationship to the
names Cleland and McCleland that I have found.
