I need to correct my previous reply.
Robert Hill Cleghorn's grandfather, James came from Scotland. That was James and Elizabeth Adams Cleghorn. Robert Hill Cleghorn's father was John A. and Mary Affleck/Affegh Cleghorn son of James and Elizabeth. James and Elizabeth did indeed bring 12 children with them from Scotland; among those were: John A. Cleghorn, James Cleghorn, Nasmyth Cleghorn, Thomas Cleghorn, William W. Cleghorn, Adams Cleghorn, Christian Cleghorn, Wilson Cleghorn and David Cleghorn.

Ida Cleghorn Hewitt was my gt. grandfather, John C. Cleghorn's sister. She was married to James Hewitt of the Lockport/Lewiston area. They were children of Robert Hill Cleghorn (born 1823-1903) and Margaret Gow Cleghorn (born 1823-1887 of the Lewiston/Hartland/Lockport, NY area. Robert Hill Cleghorn's father, James and Elizabeth Adams Cleghorn did indeed come to that area from Peebles, Drumelzier, Scotland area around 1828. We have just started with the genealogy, but have quite a bit of info on this family. We are hoping to find the cemeterys where they are all buried. Would you by any chance know where that might be. We know that Robert and Margaret are buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Niagara Falls for we have visited that site. Let us know if you would like to correspond. I noticed that you have Armstrong in your e-mail. Are you by any chance a child/grandchild of Gertrude Cleghorn Armstrong Smith?
