Hi Katie
Thanks for your reply.
When you say you haven't got much info on London Gleghornes,does that mean none?
Can you give me dates for migration to the states?
Happy New Year to you
Regards
James

Mary Ellen,
Your line is not connected (so far...) to that of Archibald Scott Cleghorn... While your line was in the Peebleshire area, his were in Edinburgh. Unfortunately, they all had a tendency to name their sons with the same batch of names, making it difficult to unravel the lines.

James,
Guess Michael and I should have been more specific... I was referring to Cleghorns in Canada. Given Michael's reference to Quebec arrival dates, I expect he was also. Unfortunately, I don't have much info on Gleghorn(e)s in London, UK.

Hello there! Would love to compare notes. I have the following information:
Henry Evermont Cleghorn born in Hamilton County 3/21/1880 - 1/20/1955 had 2 wives:
Rosa Lee Rice who died around 1939.
Doll Pearl Derrick {not sure of last name} She was born in Stephensville, Erath county on 3/19/1895 and died 7/1986.
Henry had children, lots, 9 that I know of but not sure with which wife - or some from each. The children were:
* Erna who was born in McCullough county and married Gene Samuleson.
* Geraldine "Cissy" who dies in Brady Texas about 1989.
* Mozelle, who married a Herman Ford
* Agatha who married Dub Roper and died in Austin Texas
* Emma Jo who married a man with the last name of Harrison and last know
residence was Lake Buchanan Texas
* Clois - which all I know was a career army man
* Raymond who was born 12/24/1919 in Sna Saban County, lived in Michigan and
also in New Port Richey Florida, where he died in 1990
* James Clovis Cleghorn born 2/5/1913 in Bowser, Texas. He died in San Angelo
on 9/9/87. He married Helen Laverne Marshall who was born in Pear Valley
on 8/5/1912. The were married 10/13/1933. She died somewhere between
1944-1946. They had 2 sons:
* John Tom 2/1/1936 who now lives in Florida with his wife Marti - both
have served their country.
* Clovis Marshall Cleghorn born in Brady Texas on 6/20/1934 who is my
father. He married Leonora Chloe Pearson of Grand Prairie Texas.
They had the following children:
* James Lee
* Cynthia Ann
* Donna Faith - who died only a few days after birth. She was
premature and was buried in a doll dress.
* Connie Marie
* and myself, Linda Kay
* Going back to James Clovis Cleghorn, he also had 2 other marriages. He
married a lady named Pauline in August of 1947. Evidently it was not a
good choice for either. In January of 1950 he married Lucille Montgomery
McDaniel in Tomball Texas.
Also Clovis Marshall remarried to Prudence Anne Johnson wo was born 6/11. They were married 5/6/1967 and they now are residing in Edwardsville, Illinois.
This is as far back as I have gotten, as I have not worked on the family tree in a very long time. One of these days I will MAKE the time to sit back down and do this! Maybe some of these names will sound familiar to you or someone in your family. Wouldn't that be a great Christmas present for the both of us?
Please write back and let me know what you have. Thanks so much!!!!! Have a blessed Christmas.
Sincerely,
Linda Kay Cleghorn Allen
