Hi
I know this thread hasn't been post in in a while, but on the off chance...
John Clegg/Margaret Carter's son Richard Allan married my great-grandaunt Ethel Wilson, so I would be very interested in sharing information :)
regards from NZ

I came across several original documents related to Baxter Clegg of Lafayette, Louisiana. He was born in North Carolina in 1811. Two of the documents name him Deacon and Elder of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Dunsborough and Salisbury, North Carolina. The other is an election registration for Lafayette Parish in 1872. Anyone interested in these unique items? I found them among boxes of loose papers in an used book store in Maryland.

Interesting:
My name is Colin Hollingsworth Clegg. My father was Leonard Hollingsworth Clegg (Died 2008). Dad was born in West Kirby Cheshire. I believe his father was from Liverpool, but not sure about the early date quoted in your message. However, it would be interesting to discover my roots. I have resided in Nova Scotia for 40 Years after leaving the Royal Navy way back when. You can contact me at cclegg(a)eastlink.ca
Regards
Colin Clegg.
Colin
