I, too, was wondering how you find out any information about the photo, or how to find the words saying it is Mary Ann Clegg. Is there any info as to where she may have lived and died? I even registered , password and all, and could pull up no information.
Helen Leino
I have looked at the picture you say is labeled Mary Ann Clegg. Image #33.
Can you tell me where to find the words written that say she is Mary Ann Clegg?
Thanks for finding this site.

Subject: [CLEGG] Photo of "Mary A. Clegg"

This is a very bizarre post, but I thought someone might be interested. I have no relation that I know of to any Cleggs, but I stumbled across an old photo labeled "Mary A. Clegg" on the internet, and thought that anyone who has someone of that name in their tree might be interested. I'm bad at dating photos, but I'm going to guess it's late 1800's.
Fair warning, the photo is a post-mortem, though it's not gory or anything like that. The photo features two other women propping Mary up, but their names aren't shown. The photo can be found at:
http://thanatos.net/galleries/<http://thanatos.net/galleries/>
It's photo number 33 on the site. I would link directly to the file, but the site requires (free) registration in order to see something larger than a thumbnail. Again a warning, the site is entirely dedicated to antique post-mortem photos, so if that type of thing is going to upset you, you might not want to check it out.

I pulled up the site for the post mortum photos, but I couldn't pull up
the larger photo of Mary Clegg, or the information/comments about the
photo. If anyone has any suggestions to pull up the information , please
pass it on.
Sincerely,
Helen Leino

Just making a correction. I had said it was photo 33 on the site, it's actually labeled "pm (33)"
