I'm sorry Peter, I have not come across Jacob Clegg. If you want to post a bit more information about him like marriage, death dates and places if you have them, I will keep an eye out.

I have Clegg relatives in Liverpool going back to 1841 and a branch in
Winnipeg arriving in about 1912.
Any connections?

Message Board Post:
Greetings,
I am still looking for anyone connected to or descended from the following Manchester, Lancashire, England family of Clegg.
Children of Isaac or John Clegg (unsure which one) born about 1717:
Betty/Elizabeth Clegg mar 1768 to John Pershouse with children John and James Pershouse;
John Clegg living in 1778 when Betty died, made guardian of her two sons;
Mary Clegg mar 1767 Charles Snow, deceased by 1818, daughters Mary Ann Snow (mar 1795 Henry Graeme and appears to have lived in Elland, Yorkshire having 9 children), Isabella Snow mar 1792 in London to John Hodgkinson;
James Clegg deceased by 1818 mar Alice Barton/Baron with children living Samuel Clegg mar Hannah Heyes, Sarah Clegg mar 1792 Andrew Maiben, and Ann Clegg;
Ashworth Clegg, born about 1748, merchant of Manchester, mar Elizabeth Derbyshire in 1815 and died in 1818 outliving his brothers and sisters and naming his nephews and nieces in his will.
I am not sure on the order of birth of the above. I am a descendant of Betty (Clegg) Pershouse whose grandson, William Pershouse born 1811 immigrated to Australia with his family in 1852.
Thanks

Hi
Anyone researching the Clegg family that lived in PA during the 1850-60's?
My James Clegg and Francis Richardson were both there in Cherry Tree....were your Clegg's there too? Let me know.
