Message Board Post:
Am seeking anyone connected with the family of Esther Clegg, born c.1833 as above (probably the same person as the one baptised at Ashworth 1834). Her parents were Robert & Betty.
Esther married firstly Isaac Chadwick 1853 in Rochdale, and William Simpson 1867 in Bamford Chapel, Bury. She spent much of her life in Heywood, and died sometime after 1891 census.

Dear List
I am looking for the parents/grandparents of my GG grandfather, Francis
Clegg. His second wife, my GG grandmother was Susannah Crabtree. He had
children Betty, Ann, William, John and Jane born between 1835 and 1849 in Bury and
then Laneside Spotland, Rochdale. Some of the children were baptised at Hope
St Particular Baptist Church. He may be the son of a Jospeph Clegg who
married a Betty Clough. He lived in Moorside Farm, Vale of Whitworth just north
of Rochdale and worshipped at Hallfold Presbyterian Church. Possible children
for these people are John, Ann, Edmund, Robert, James, Joseph, Betty as well
as Francis. There are so many Cleggs in this area that research is very
difficult and I cannot be sure that I have the right father for Francis.
Hope someone can help, even to eliminate other Francis's of that time.
Kind regards
Frances Fogarty
