Hi List,
I just received a birth certificate for a Frederick Charles DUFF, born
in Broughton, Salford, Lancashire on 2 May 1907. I am trying to find
the marriage for the parents, James DUFF and Clara CLEGG. I have
checked the FreeBMD and the Lancashire BMD sites with no luck so far.
James was born in Dublin, Ireland but moved to Salford just after the
1871 census with his parents. He was born abt. 1862. After the 1881,
he disappears and I cannot find him again. James' parents were Daniel
DUFF and Jane BURROWES. James was listed as a porter in 1881 and Tram
Conductor on the birth certificate for Frederick. I have no info on
Clara. I would like to find any info on this family from 1881 to 1907
if possible. I would like to find out if they had any other children
before or after Frederick. I am trying to verify that this is my
missing James or I have the wrong birth cert. for the child.
Thanks for any help you can give.

I have Clegg relatives who went to Australia. William Clegg who married Louisa Birchall in 1914. They went to Australia in the 1920's with their three sons, William, James and John. I would love to hear from any Clegg descendants in Australia.
