Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Fshwick's History of the Parish of Rochdale gives the history of Clegg Hall.
Arthur Asshecton was the son of Edward Assheton, Rector of Middleton.
Arthur's son William who lived at Clegg until his death (1601). His son was
Theophilus (baptised 1583/84) and lived at Clegg Hall until 1618 when it was
sold to his brother in law Edmund Howorth for £1500.

Any information on Arthur Assheton/Ashton of Clegg Hall? He must have bee related to Theophilius. Both are probably descended from Sir Ralph and his son Richard.
