I have no Clegg history prior to 1814. In 1832 Jacob born 1814 in Chorley
married Elizabeth Garstang. You never know what we might find!

trace a Maria Clegg who married a John Sudell (Sudall) around 1880 or
perhaps 1790's. John Sudall (b. circa 1773) is reported to have married
another woman, Betty Pilkington, on June 16, 1803 at the same church,
Altham. Both marriages are listed in the church register. I don't know if
it is two John Sudalls or two marriages for John Sudall. I thought that I
could find out by tracking Maria Clegg who was probably born late 1870's
early 1880's. Clegg/Pilkington/Sudall seem quite common in the Oldham,
Blackburn, Oswaldtwistle, Huncoat, Accrington area of Lancashire. Other
common family names are George, John, Henry, Thomas, Richard and Robert.
Mostly with the Sudall.

name for g and g-g- aunts. I know this is a shot in the dark, but I thought
you might know some Clegg family history. I'm on vacation so I have time to
pay attention to such pursuits. would like to hear from you only if it
isn't an imposition on your time. Thanks. S. Boyce
