I've "rescued" an old photograph identified as Hannah CLEAVES which was
taken at the Alden's Studio in Boston, Massachusetts. The photograph
appears to have been taken in the 1870's or 1880's with Hannah likely in her
40's or 50's at the time it was taken. In addition to her name, someone has
written "Grandmother" and "4-5-58 loaned to Emma CLEAVES by Gene CLEAVES of
Braintree".
I am hoping to locate someone from her family so that this wonderful old
treasure can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family,
or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Dear Shelley,
This may be a relative of mine. James Cleaves was my 2X great-grandfather.
Jenny Borden Cleaves was my grandmother. I have been taking a short hiatus
from my genealogy, but will try to assess if Hannah is ours or not. James had
moved to Iowa. If you want to entrust the photo to me, I can be reached at:
Haine Crown
2325 Lenwood Dr SW
Rochester, Mn 55902
If the photo does not belong with us, I will see that it is passed along.
There is another family that has been in touch with me about Cleaves
relatives, and it likely belongs with them if not with us.
Thanks for your kindness,
Haine
