Donald,
I am also trying to find the parents of John W Cleaver, born circa 1787 in Virginia. Hardy County, Virginia was created from part of Hampshire County Virginia and then Hardy County, Virginia became Hardy County, West Virginia upon the creation of West Virginia in 1863.
The online catalog of the Library of Virginia http://lva1.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/F/7BEF2KNNH47GLYCF5RHGVBFDDG3IU4RUBY...
cites a 8 June 1762 transaction in which an Ezekiel Cleaver is the grantee in a land transaction of "88 acres on both sides of Mils's Branch a branch of Cacapehon adjoining Joseph Edwards" in Hampshire County, Virginia. Hardy County was not formed until October 1785. I wonder then if the land referenced in this transaction might have eventually ended up in Hardy County, West Virginia? Could this Ezekiel Cleaver been the father of the John W Cleaver?
Jim Houston

Can someone help me fill in the blanks about my father and his second family.
Lloyd Cleaver Born Phila Pa 12/27/1905 was in US Army 1942- 1945
Daughter Maria Born 12/28/1940 Phila Pa - Mother's maiden name was Maria Beatrice Troester who was also born in Phila in 1912.
Can not find any information after 1950 when he collected WWII bonus money. He lived at 2723 N Warnock Street, Phila Pa at that time. Any info on any of the above would be very helpful as I thought he had died in the early 1930's
