In my records, Francis Cleaver was married to Margaret F. Buckley. but he could have just had multiple wives. if you can find out if one of his wives was Margaret F. Buckley, then your information will be helpful.

I am trying to find information about when the Cleaver (Cleever) family purchased the land in Springhouse, Gwynedd Township. I'd like to determine if they purchased it directly from my family, or did someone else own it in between.
Thanks!

Wow... that's fascinating... I only discovered Elizabeth and Matthew cleaver very recently by looking online at census records and deducing they must be James's parents. I know nothing about them at all. Was Elizabeth (shock horror!) married before? I'd love to know more abut either of them. James their son met emma (I think) at a big house they were both in service at, either in Ashbourne or Hessle, and he is commemorated on the Hessle war memorial despite not dieing in the first world war. He died several years after the end of the war, but someone got something wrong!

Hi Wilma,
I have been tracking down or trying to my Sammons family. I have found my Isaac Sammons in Columbus township Adams County Illinois. He had a sister Lenah or Luna that married Benjamin Cleaver. In the 1850 census for this township 16 year old Eliza Sammons is in Benjamin and Luna Cleaver household. It is my understanding that Benjamin and Luna may have married in Ohio I find the names of Akers and Demoss in Isaacs family. His daughter Sarah J married William B Akers and his daughter Margaret married Benjamin Franklin Demoss. He named on daughter Luna who I believe died young. If you could help me with your Benjamin Cleaver who married Isaac's sister I would be most appreciative. I believe they had a large family but cannot connect them in Adams County.
Hope we can help each other.
Thanks
Susie

Well it has taken nearly 3 years for a reply but yes I would agree it appears Elizabeth Cleaver formally Ridgard formally Chandler is also your great grandmother. While doing little research into the Cleaver line as my link to Elizabeth is before the marriage to Matthew Cleaver I did note James Cleaver was a shop assistant in Hessle in the 1901 census.
I would be interested if you have any Cleaver info and I can offer some pre cleaver info if requested.

Thanks for the response. My line does not cross with your Cleaver line....to the best of my knowledge. I have the line traced back to Thomas in Mt. Pleasant in 1804. I need to figure our the immigration piece to connect him to his Father.....James....I think...born in England in late 1700's....but that is over my head at this time....but will figure it out....I am sure
thanks for connecting.. Good luck on your search....it is a lot of fun
