Yes, I would like to share. You can contact me at wmiller01(a)snet.net
I don't know what I might have that you would be interested in. I have the names of his children and some deed information that might help track their movements. I have been out to their property in Adams Co. IL and talked to the people that own it now. That was very interesting. Are you interested in deeds? Sometimes I get a lot of information from them.

Thanks for your prompt reply! Richard Cleaver is my great great grandfather on my mother's side. Prior to your reply, I didn't have any info on Richard and Lydia's children other than John, who married Lucinda (Lucy) Mealy. I have a fair amount of info on that family, including pictures. I'd be more than please to share what I have with you. I have a brother and am in contact with a few Cleavers. Good luck in your hunt!

I read your post with interest. I have done some research on this line also.
What I have on Richard is that he was born in 1803 in Maryland. Son of John and Rebecca. He married Lydia Bright on 3 Jan 1823 in Hamilton Co. OH. They had 11 children. They moved to Adams Co., IL and then on to Kansas about 1864. Before they left he sold a parcel of land in Columbus Twp, to my 2nd Great Grandmother, Ann Akers. He died 7 April 1874 in Allen Co., KS.
He had a younger brother Benjamin born 21 Apr 1808 who married Lana Sammons (I believe the sister of Ann Akers). While in Columbus Twp. Adams Co. IL he lived across the road from Richard. They both held quite a lot of land in the area. I think some of it original land grants. I would have to look that up again. Ben died 11 May 1889 and is buried in Pleasant View Cem., Camp Point, Adams Co., IL
Ben is my main interest and I am very interested in finding living male descendents of either Ben or Richard. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Hi! Sylvia Cleaver was my grandmother. Do you have any information on Richard Cleaver, her grandfather? I believe that he was married to Lydia Bright and was born somewhere around 1803.

I have traced my great, great grandfather to Thomas Cleaver of Warwickshire, who married Martha Anne Horwood of Brackley, Northamptonshire in 1870. D.o.b.s are 1841 and 1847 respectively. Now I am stuck! Any information going back further would be great.
By the way, the Isle of Wight arm of it is that Thomas and Martha moved to the Isle of Wight and that is where my great grandfather was born!

I don't know if I can help, but there is a great website about births deaths and marriages on the Isle of Wight. Just go to a search engine and type in 'births, deaths and marriages isle of wight' It is the Family History Society one.
My Grandfather was a Cleaver and came from the Isle of Wight, which is why I have replied to your post. His first name was Arthur and he was married to Winifred. He had a twin sister Kathleen, two other sister, Isabel and Margaret and possibly another called Sis. He also had a brother called James.
So far I have gone back to 1841, my great, great grandfather, Thomas, who came from Warwickshire. If any of this is of help to you, or you would like to put heads together, please let me know!
