Merle,
My 5th great-grandparents were James and Hannah Houston. James died about November 14, 1760 in Kent County Delaware. Hannah then married WILLIAM CLEAVER who I believe was from New Castle County, Delaware. William Cleaver apparently adopted Anthony Houston, son of James and Hannah Houston and my 4th great-grandfather. William Cleaver, Hannah and Anthony Houston then apparently moved to Nelson Co. Kentucky where William died about December 14, 1807. Would this William Cleaver be from the family of Cleavers from New Castle County, Delaware mentioned in your message? If so, I would appreciate any information you might have on James and Hannah Houston, their children or James and Hannah parents.

Jan:
Thank you again for the info. My relatives are Alfred and Elizabeth (Gower) Cleaver. My gggrandmother was Mary Ann Gower who was Elizabeth's sister. I have a photo and Alfred and Elizabeth's sons William and John in 1937.
May I ask you where you got your info from? Do you have any census records for any of these Cleavers?
Barb
