Anita,
Sorry but the Cleavers iam interested in were all born after the mid 1870's which is when my great great grandma married into the Cleaver family in Ashbourne Derbyshire. Regarding Canada iam simpley told one of my great great grandmas children moved to Canada. The same person who told me this also states they came across a cafe somewhere in Canada called Cleavers cafe and the owner claimed there relatives came from Derbyshire. The canadian person didnt keep in touch with them sadly.

I have connections to two Alf Cleavers both in Ontario. Both in the MT. Pleasant Ontario Area/Brantford. The Alf that most likely could be your Alf was an adopted son of John Cleaver and Issa (short form for Isabelle possibly). John and Issa both born in late 1800's. John's father was Samuel and his father was Thomas born in England 1803.
The other Alf of Ontario was marreid to Mary E. Ludlow in 1902 and had 2 children Elmer and Cecil
