Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Rich and Kathy,
Will miss you, but hurry back. We're also in the process of maybe
moving too. Not far, but will have to get a new IPS.
Best of wishes in your new home. May it be everything you thought you
saw and every thing you want.
Pat Cleveland
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is an active
part of the fundraising for the US memorial to our WW II military. Contact
your local DAR Chapter to see how you can add your name, or that of your
loved ones, to the WW II Memorial Book of Remembrance.
For $10, all of which goes to the memorial fund, you can make sure that your
loved ones are remembered.
To all of you that would like to check it out yourselves, go to:

Teri-
The below email is true. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., is raising money to
help
fund a World War II Memorial to be built in Washington, D.C.
In addition, several of our stores are copying photographs of
veterans in
the community and posting the copy in the store to recognize their
local
Veterans. Other events are also taking place to honor Veteran's
Day.
If you have any other questions, please let me know.
Thank you.

I am forwarding this because it is a worthwhile project. Got me off
the
dime and I got the notes for my grandparents done and I've already
sent
them to Lin. Pass this on to others who would participate. Linda
From: "Ethelind (Lin) Wright" <ethelind(a)gateway.net>
(distribute freely, but ask permission before posting to any lists, and
please trim headers).
Announcement: The Grandparent Project
As an aid for current and future genealogists, I am launching the
grandparent project. I am asking those who wish to participate to
write a
SHORT biography of your grandparents[see footnote 1]. Include full
names
and places where ever possible. These biographies will be placed
on a
website[2] grouped in the geographical area where they spent the
majority
of their lives (with links from other areas and an all-name index).
Send submissions to me at either ethelind(a)athens.net or
ethelind(a)gateway.net[3]
Ethelind Ruth (named for both grandmothers) Wright
footnotes:
1. Grandparents if deceased; if they are living you might want to get
permission before submitting. You can include other relatives if
desired
(siblings, spouses, aunts, uncles, parents, great-grandparents).
2. Initially at www.ethelind.com/gparent/gindex.html (although there
is
nothing there yet!) - probably I will ask for a site at rootsweb and
volunteers if this takes off.
3. I will proof for spelling and may edit for length if necessary, but
generally won't make changes to submitted biographies.
