Hi, to all Cleveland cousins,
I'm new to the block but I'm anxious to "meet" Cleveland cousins. My line is
from Moses (of course!) and from his son, Josiah. I'm interested in
connecting with any one working in OH with Asahel Cleveland (1773-1847) and
his family. My g-g-grandmother was his daughter, Leura.

Greetings,
I have just subscribed to the CLEAVELAND- Digest. My Great Grand

info back to Richard, b.c-1555 - ?.- m. Alice ?, b.c-1555, d.4 May, 1626,
their Grandson was Moses of Marthas Vineyard, and he was #1 child of that
family. Now my anscestor was Edward, #7 of that family. He was b.20 May

They died in Rexton, NB. (my G-Grandparents)
If you are interested, I can send you what I have on the generations
in between the above. Will be happy to share any related information I have.
Note that I used your Cleaveland site as a link to my site. Hope this is OK?
To date, [right or wrong ? :-)], I have as a line of Clevelands, the following:

Of course, the above is always open for correction. Would like to hear if
anyone has more to offer. Regards, Hugh.

I would be most grateful to anyone having information about my third great
grandfather, Benjamin Franklin Cleveland who died in Peoria, Illinois. I
roughly estimate that he lived around 1800 1880.
I have no other information regarding dates nor birth location, but do know
that his son was Benjamin Harrison Cleveland (born 1835 in Peoria, Illinois,
died 1895 in Hebron, Nebraska, who married Malisa Thurston who was born on
November 12, 1842 in Illinois).
Thanks for any information.
Hi,
Still at a brick wall. These Clevelands moved from NY to MI between 1847
and 1850.
J. F. CLEVELAND b. NY before 1821, prob. d. 1847-50 NY or MI.
m. Margaret A. (LAWRENCE?) b. NY 1819, d. MI 1881
m. William PRICE in Grass Lake, Jackson Co. MI in 1850
(J. F. Cleveland also reported as J. T. and A.P. in other sources)
Children:
John E. CLEVELAND b. 1841 NY
George H. CLEVELAND b. 1842 NY, d. 1865, Civil War, USS Juliet,
Mississippi Squadron, buried Grass Lake, MI
Mary J. CLEVELAND b. NY 1844, d. MI 1900, m. M.S. ORDWAY
Andrew Franklyn CLEVELAND b. NY 1847, d. MI 1916
m. Ida Ann HAWLEY b. MI 1857, d. MI 1932
(John and George were not with their mother at the time of the 1850
census and George was not there in the 1860 census as well. Has anyone
found them living with other relatives either in NY or MI during those
years? John would have been abt. 9 in 1850 and George would have been 8
in 1850 and 18 in 1860.)
Children of Ida and A. Frank CLEVELAND:

Hi Lori,
I live in California, the northern foothills, Auburn, which is about 35 miles
north of Sacramento.
The Genealogy of the Cleveland and Cleaveland Family is still for sale. They are
reprints taken from film. The cost is any where from $65.00 a book and up,
depending on if you catch a sale. Look on the web for Higginson Books. They seel
reprints of many, many old genealogies and histories.
You do come from Moses. Can you give me the line down from Cornelia? Just names
are fine. I have the whole family but it is a lot of typing to do, but I can
send you a direct line right away.
So far your line is:
Moses Cleveland b. 1624 Ipswich, Suffolk, England
 d. 1/9/1701/02 Woburn, Massachusetts
Samuel Cleveland b. 6/9/1657 Woburn
 d. 3/12/1735/36 Canterbury, Windham,
Connecticut
Joseph Cleveland b. 7/18/1689 Chelmesford, Massachusetts
 d. 3/11/1766 Canterbury
Elijah Joseph Cleveland b. 1/5/1750/21 Canterbury
 d. 9/28/1794 Hillsdale,
Columbia, New York
Elijah Cleveland b. 2/6/1775 Hillsdale
 d. 9/20/1834 Elkhart, Indiana
Cornelia Jane Cleveland b. 11/29/1818 North Norwich, Chenango, New York
 d. 5/14/1882 Durand, Winnebago,
Illinois
Now if you can tell me who came after I may be able to give you a couple of
names more. As I said the books were pub. 1899 so I am trying to find the
information on the families after that. I have posted about 8000 names on my web
page but I have almost 16,000 names in my files and I will be changing web
pages soon and then I can post them all for nothing. Right now I am paying
$30.00 a month for what I have there now and can't afford more. Any way I always
hope that by helping that I will get the lines on the family that are from the
1880's forward.
Hope this helps and will let you know when I have all the information up and
ready for you to copy.
What I do is post it as a 5th line on my Family Tree Maker site and then you can
Print it all down from there. I will let you know as soon as it is ready,
Kathy

Hi, I have read many topics on the Cleveland line and was wondering if
anyone knows of Elijah b. Feb 6, 1775 and Lucretia (Brookins) Cleveland?
Their children were Lewis V, Cornelia Jane, Erastus F., Eliza, Charles F.,
Lucinda, Artemas B., John E., Samuel F., Daniel, Lorenzo. They both died in
Elkhart, Indiana in the 1830's. Erastus, Lewis, and Cornelia moved to
Winnebago, Co. Illinois in 1837 after the death of the parents. I'm hoping
that someone has heard of these people, with such a large family. Is this
family possibly decended from the Moses Cleveland that I hear so much about?
I have a few birth dates but not much more than that. Thanks Lori

Maggie:
I am researching a Cleveland line. I don't know much about it. My
mother told me that she was always told that she was related to Grover
Stephen Cleveland. I think that I have discovered that he wasn't a
direct ancestor, so maybe we connect in some way.
I am looking for Henrietta M. Cleveland b. 1835 to 1861 in Wisconsin.
She married Alden Bruce Hoyt. I believe her father was Washburn
Cleveland and mother was ? Beede.
I am also interested in which Irvine names you are researching. That is
a very dead end line for me.
Please get in touch. Thanks.

Hi Everyone,
I am new to the list, but so far haven't seen many messages posted. I
thought that this would be a busy list, since Cleveland seems to be a fairly
common surname. Anyone out there researching on the lines of Moses
Cleveland? I am a descendant of Moses, but down a different line than
Stephen "Grover" Cleveland.
My Cleveland research is presently focused in California and Ohio, working
on the descendants of William Cleveland born Aug 22, 1817 in Rome, Oneida,
New York and his wife Delight Palmer born about 1848 in Ohio. I would like
to find out more information on Delight Palmer's ancestry and to figure out
when William left New York, and all the stops he made enroute to California
where the family ended up in the mid 1880's. I know they were in Walnut,
Bureau County, Ohio at the time of the 1850 census.
I have information on this line that I would be happy to share with other
researchers. Other related surnames are: BUTTERFIELD, CLAYTON, HALL,
HANCOCK, IRVINE, MEAD, PALMER, REEDY, SHAEN, AND SNAPP.
