Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I also have that but I have no children for her so there is no line down. I don't
know if that line has been researched but it is not in The Cleveland Genealogy
books.
Thanks for answering,
Kathy

Sorry, Michael, but I have searched the 3-volume 1899 Cleveland and
Cleaveland genealogy for information on your family and struck out. I am
posting this message into a mailing list for Cleaveland genealogy; perhaps
you'll hear from someone with a connection.

I've got some Cleveland's from Jackson Co., Mi. Pulaski to be exact. But I
don't see a connection. If you want to look for yourself go to
http://www.aracnet.com/~jerrys/tree/names1.htm and scroll down to
Cleveland, Charles Ely. You may see something I don't.
My grandmother was Eva May Cleveland b. Mar. 21, 1881 in Jackson Co. MI.
m. John Albert Havens Sept 11, 1919. d. October 21, 1959. Havens
children: Leo, Beatrice Mae, Alice, Earl, Vivian Irene, Dale, Louis.
Eva's parents were: Andrew Franklin Cleveland b. September 4, 1847 in
NY, m. Jan 30, 1880 to Ida Ann Hawley b. May 16, 1857. Franklin died
Nov 7, 1916 in MI. Ida died Jan. 28, 1932 in MI.
Franklin's parents were A. P. Cleveland reportedly b. in NY and Margaret
Lawrence b. in NY. abt 1820. In the 1850 Jackson Co MI census, Margaret
is shown newly married to a William Price of Grass Lake, MI. Besides
several Price children there are two Cleveland children listed. Mary J.
age 6 and "Frankland" age 2. In the 1860 census Margaret is alone with
three Cleveland children: John E. age 19 born in NY , Mary J. age 16 b.
in NY and Franklin age 12 as well as James Price age 9 b. in MI.
Any connections?? J.A.

Someone recently asked about the Grand Army of the Republic.
The following article is from Eastman's Online Genealogy
Newsletter and is copyright 1998 by Richard W. Eastman and
Ancestry, Inc. It is re-published here with the permission of
the author.
- Broderbund's Civil War Ancestry Project
Broderbund is probably best known to the readers of this
newsletter as producers of Family Tree Maker genealogy software
and also as producers of many, many genealogy CD-ROM disks. Now
they have added a new service to their Web site. Broderbund worked
with the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War to develop an
online area where members of the organization can enter their
lineages, making it easier for the group to compile member data.
The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is the heir to the
Grand Army of the Republic which was formed from the Union
veterans of the Civil War. It is a heritage society, membership
in the SUVCW requires lineage to a veteran of the Union forces in
that conflict. The National Organization oversees the operation of
25 departments, each consisting of one or more states, and about
180 community level camps. More than 5,000 men belong to the Sons
of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
While the data is being collected only from members of the Sons of
Union Veterans of the Civil War, the information is available to
everyone on the World Wide Web. Anyone who visits Family Tree
Maker Online can search this data via the sitewide search engine.
The entry form on Broderbund's site is at:
http://www.familytreemaker.com/suvcw/. The home page of the Sons
of Union Veterans of the Civil War is located at:
