Hi, I have hit a brick wall with my searching. I have been looking everywhere for records regarding the birth of John Clarey and Elizabeth Banks.
They married on 20 November 1865 but I can find nothing of their birth. On Census records, they are both found and it gives an estimated age which would make them born around the 1830's. It says on the 1891 Scotland Census that John Clarey was born in Kings County, Ireland. Elizabeth was born in Sligo, Ireland, she also was known as Eliza. I have tried every site I can think of and found nothing. I have also tried variations of the surname, such as Clarey, Clary, Claray, Cleary, Clery, Cleery, Cleere, Cleerie, I know that when they went to Scotland they settled in Angus, Forfarshire, Scotland and there is records of 2 Sons being born John 1869 and Thomas 1871.
Does anyone know how I can find the Birth records for John & Eliza, I would be most grateful for any help anyone can give me.
Kind Regards,
Karen Cleary
