I may have information you are looking for. I have the original obituary on Elizabeth (Doyle) Cleary from Whitechurch. My great great grandmother was one of the daughters (marcella cleary - who had a brother Pierre). I also have the obits of william cleary (who I believe was another brother), and the obits of patrick cleary - who was married to Elizabeth Doyle.
I have various newspaper clippings and items from the church services that were in my grandmothers papers when she died.

We do are related!! I believe Alice die young (32). My great great grandfather was her brother, William Patrick Cleary! I can't believe you still have the violin! Can I have a picture? Do you have any picture, documents, etc about them or their arrival? I'm working on that genealogy for about 10 years now and I can seem to find what ship they came on, the exact date, any information about their settlement in St-Joachim or their family stay in Ireland. Thank you for the reply!

Brenda,
Are you the daughter-in-law of Eileen Cleary? If so, I would like to find out what information you have about Eileen's grandparents. Eileen is my husband's, Jim Cleary, aunt. Jim's father was Eileen's brother, Michael Cleary Jr. originally from Oswego. Do you have any inforation on their grandparents. I have hit a brick wall.
Thanks,
Donna Cleary

I had a great aunt by the name of "Kathleen Scanlon" I am trying to trace. I've seen her name spelled with a C and a K or it may be Catherine, middle intials vary also. Scanlon can be spelled "Scanlan" also.
She was born in Scranton, PA and married late in life to a Maurice Cleary (also unsure of the spellings), he was from Ireland. They moved from Scranton to Dutchess County NY where she taught school. Her approximate date of birth may be 1894.
