Hi - I was doing a Google search on May McAvoy and came upon this thread. The woman who was asking about May in the thread from several years ago was married to my second cousin and she has since passed away. So, it was very bizarre to me to find this thread. I was just curious if anyone was able to give her any information.
My great-grandmother (a wonderful, sweet, honest Catholic woman)who died when I was 13 said she was married to May's brother. She told my Grandmother (her daughter) about visiting her in-laws in New York so there is that connection. The father-in-law "Frank" that Susan McAvoy speaks of in the thread was my Great Uncle and he passed away several years back at the age of 95. Sorry for the long explanation however, I would love to know it anyone knows anything about May's siblings. Thanks in advance to the help.

I think you mean that they emigrated in the early 20th century9early 1900s?) And do you mean that they were married in 1835? I do not know where my Clearys originate. I only know that my g.g.grandfather(Owen) and g.g.grandmother came from Wexford and had one daughter(Bridgid) born around 1840. They then moved to Carlow where they stayed. My grandmother emigrated to US in 1896. I have been looking for early Cleary info for quite some time now and just had this Wexford "info break-through" recently. Sorry I am not much help to you. Good luck with your research! Regina
