I just obtained a copy of Margaret Cleary's death certificate and it lists Martin Cleary as her father and has no name for her mother.

Please help ....
I saw this thread and wonder if you might be able to help me. My gg grandfather William Green (b.1812 Ireland) moved to Canada (quebec I think) abt. 1812 and about 1830 moved to New York and apprenticed as a lithographer and then set up in business until 1837 when he moved to New Orleans.
I am pretty sure that at some stage in this 7 year period he married an Elizabeth Cleary, I know his wife was called Elizabeth and their first son was called William Cleary Green, so I'm assuming Elizabeth Cleary, it runs that way in other parts of the family tree. Do you happen to have any knowledge of Elizabeth Cleary marrying William Green, his father William H Green who he was travelling with seems to have been pretty well connected.
I hope you can help or direct me in some useful directions, thanks
Bill Butler
