I was re-=reading the digest and saw this query about Mary Cleary...and her
son was baptised in Neneagh...
My clearys were from there also, and my ggrandfather was William and his
brother, was Patrick, and they came to the U.S. In about 1860...I know they
left a lot of siblings there. Their father was Thomas and their mother,
Elizabeth Parker...
Do you have your Marys, parents names?
Judy Webb

The Owen Cleary that you mention is a cousin and one that I was already familiar with. I am curious however, to learn of any other Cleary info. that you might have. You did not mention any dates or names. I would really like to hear more. Thanks. Regina

The only Owen Cleary I have found was born on 15 Nov 1871 in Carlowtown. His parents were Thomas Cleary and Mary Anne Nolan. Given the Irish naming patterns, he may be a link to your Owen Cleary.
Best regards,
Pat

You did not mention any dates or whether you know the names of any of the six siblings. I have Cleary roots in Carlow. My great grandmother was Sarah Cleary b.1842 and her parents were Owen Cleary born 1803 and Mariann Rowe. do you have any other information?

My Cleary ancestors were from Tullow, County Carlow. I have been able to trace my grandmother Mary Josephine and great uncle Peter, but cannot trace their six siblings. According to LDS records, several Cleary families lived in Tullow at the time. It is not unreasonable to suspect that those Cleary families were related.
I have saved copies of the LDS records regarding Clearys in Tullow. If you have Cleary kin in County Carlow, especially in Tullow, let's compare notes.

Hi,
Looking for any information on James Cleary born in Bulgaden about 1838 (poss 25 Feb 1837). Married to Olivia (Tanners ?).
Had a son Thomas James 1872. Came to England before 1856. He was also in 94th foot between 1856 and 1873 (served 10 years in india). I think he may have died 1874 in Plymouth.
Thanks
Chris
