Hi again,
I have 7 Cleary's living in Wooddown in the Griffiths Valuation 1854, i.e.
Patrick Cleary, John Cleary, Edward Cleary, Edward Cleary Junior, James Cleary, William Cleary and Philip Cleary.
Sorry I made mistake earlier saying that Anne was my grt-grt Grandmother - She is in fact my grt-grandmother! Anne Cleary would have been born about c1843.

Hi, All I have on my Anne Cleary is that she married my grt-grt-grandfather Philip Coyle. Philip lived at Hilltown sometimes called Ballymanus nearer to Oldcastle. We knew that Anne came from Mullingar direction but it was only on a recent trip over to Ireland that my cousin gave me a few jotted notes written in an old family Bible in which she mentions that she came from Wooddown. I believe my grt-grt grandfather would have married Anne in her parish as was the way in those days, as I have been looking for a marriage in the Castlepollard direction.
I think Anne's father was called Patrick Cleary (this is only because they called their second son Patrick!!). I may be mistaken on this as they called their 3rd Edward?

Have you any idea of what Anne's maiden name would have been?
According to information passed down my family John and Ann Cleary had 6 sons. One of the Cleary's used to supply turf ( peat) to the Beattys when they moved form Marlinstown to Mullingar.
A Miss Cleary married a Delamare and some of their descendandts lived in Wooddown.
There was a Father Cleary in this family - thought to be a grandson of Ann.
I think I have some more details about marriages of Ann and her sister but I can't find tham at the moment. I will get back to you when I have found them!
Jenny

I am looking for Cleary family in the Wooddown area near Mullingar, Westmeath too. I have just returned from a very brief trip over to Ireland where I have just found out that my great-grandmother Anne Cleary came from this area?
