Hi,
I am trying to get information on the above, my gg father Patrick Cleary b 1795c married Bridget Torpey, b1800c I have records of the following children who went to Australia, Thomas John Cleary b1827, John Cleary b 1833, Denis Cleary b 1840, Daniel Torpey Cleary b 1842, Margaret Ignatius Cleary b 1849, and Ellen Cleary b 1850. There could be more children I don't know of. Thomas went to England and married Mary Heaton from Ireland in 1852 in Leeds Yorkshire, and had four children with her in England before migrating to Australia, she died here and he went back to England and married Elizabeth Kelly another Irish girl in 1868 at Bradford Yorkshire and brought her back to Australia. They also produced children. They all lived in Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia. Thomas and his brothers were master tailors. On some of the death certificates I have Patrick listed as farmer, on others Tailor, but I think farmer would be more like it.
Paridise is a little townland in Co.Clare about 10 miles west of Ennis, with about 10 houses there, this is not the Estate of Thomas Arthur, I have been told by a Cleary who lives there. His family only arrived there in the early 1900's so he couldn't be much help with my Cleary's when I telephoned him. Paradise, Ballynacally, Co. Clare is listed in the telephone book. If any of this looks familiar to anyone out there please contact me
Warm Regards
Diane
