Hi Gordon,
I have been writing to a local historial over in Ireland (he doesn't have email!)
Mr. Michael Conlan
CASTLEPOLLARD
County Westmeath
IRELAND
He has been very helpful and may be able to get you informatiion on your Cleary family as he researches the Mullingar area. I visited him a few months ago when I was over in Ireland for a funeral from the UK . He is trying to locate my Cleary family from Wooddowm and he has files on Cleary families he has been researching. He told me that he has Cleary ancestry too, and so it may be worth your while dropping him a few lines at the above address. You could help him out by giving him some of your knowledge on your ancestrial Cleary family and it may well turn out that he may be able to help. I wish I could tie up my Anne Cleary but I haven't got any further back then her yet?
Sorry if I haven't been much help but Michael Conlan is an excellent person to contact, although in his 70's it is a full-time hobby of his, and he does try his hardest to find what you are looking for. Kind regards, June

My grgrgrgf Nicholas Cleary m. Eleanor Byrne (b.ca 1771) and produced:
Philip, Thomas, Edward, John, Patrick, William, Rose, Nicholas, Catherine, Timothy and Ellen, not necessarily in that order.
Their son Timothy Cleary was baptised 16th January 1826, being recorded in the Rochfortbridge (south of Mullingar) RC parish register.
Their son Nicholas Cleary (my grgrgf) was sentenced at Mullingar Assizes to 15 years transportation for assaulting a lawyer's clerk who had dispossessed a widow. He was transported at 23yo to Van Diemen's Land in 1841.
Have a clear record for Nicholas from 1841 but very little information on his siblings and their fate.
Would appreciate any help.
Gordon

Ann, I believe your Owen Cleary was the Uncle of my GG Grandfather Patrick F. Cleary and his brother John Owen Cleary. The Cleary's lived in Londonderry Co. Ireland near the border of Donegal Co. and immigrated to Escanaba, Michigan and then later moved to Butte, Montana. I have a little information on Owen Cleary if you would like to email me.
Sincerely Tiffany Luchetta
My family came from Derry Co. Ireland to Escanaba and I believe that Owen Cleary was an Uncle to the two Cleary brothers that moved to Escanaba and then on to Butte Montana, Patrick Cleary and his brother John Owen Cleary. Please email me and I can give you more information on the Cleary family.
Sincerely Tiffany Luchetta

I am looking for Cleary's from Escanaba, MI. Owen & Bridget Cleary came to US
about mid to late 1860's. Over the years I think they had 6 children. Names and
approx DOB are John
and James' twins' 1868, Joseph 1870, Mary 1873, Elvina 1876 and Thomas (my
grandad) 1879. I am hoping someone knows this family line and can help me piece
together my lineage. Thanks, Ann
