Saw Dwyer and Dugan on your query. Already told you about Dwyer. Have a Gertrude Rickert who married a Dugan. Gertrude's mother was Mary O'Leary, daughter of Daniel O'Leary, Sr. I think these families are all interrelated.

There was a Cleary family who lived beside my O'Leary family in Monroe County, IL. I think I remember correctly that Mrs. Marianna Dwyer (think her maiden name was O'Leary) married Mathias Cleary. Had one heck of a time keeping the two families separated in my research since the names are so close in spelling and a slip of the hand.... Contact me at Cynvogel(a)aol.com

James Cleary 1872-1942 was killed in an elevator shaft in the Plaza Hotel in New York November 2, 1943. He was an elevator operator at the hotel and family tradition has it that he didn't just fall, he was pushed. I have no idea of a possible reason. The story goes that the police provided no information to Jim's sister Margaret. Brother Tom may have heard something. Jim was the son of Irish immigrant Thomas Cleary 1841-1904 and Esther Butler Cleary 1846-1884. Other siblings of Jim predeceased him: Mary Cleary Lamb, 1912 and Michael Cleary, 1930. Who can solve this 'murder' mystery?
