Hi,
The Ancestry.com database "Irish Immigrants, New York Port Arrival Records, 1846-1851" shows a Cleary family or families arriving from Liverpool on the ship Liberty on 2 December 1848. There are 3 adults and 4 children named Cleary on the ship.
One of the children, Annie, is possibly my great-grandmother.
I have not been able to locate this Cleary family or families in the U.S. censuses after their arrival. If you know where they went, or where in Ireland they came from, I'd appreciate hearing about it.

I am looking for information regarding my great great grandfather Thomas Cleary. Born in 1826 and married Mary Brennan. They had three children: Margaret born in Oct. 1858, Maria born in Aug. 1860 & Thomas Jr. born in Jan. 1864. Mary died soon after Thomas Jr. was born. Sometime in there the family came to the U.S. - I've always been told that Thomas Jr. was born in Ireland... but that info could be wrong. After coming to the U.S. Thomas remarried to Catherine Donahue and they had 10 children: Cathering, Elizabeth, Angelo, William, Johanna, Bridget, Josephine, John, Cecilia and Theresa. Somewhere they found time to set up homestead in Wisconsin. My great grandfather is Thomas Jr... and he married Mary Ann Hickey. They had 11 children: Maria, Marcella, William, Elton, Merrill, Gertrude, Cecilia, Marguerite, twins - Magdalen & Joseph and the youngest Sylvester. My grandmother is Magdalen - known as Della and she lived in and around the Hartford and West Bend, WI are!
a all of her life. If anyone can give me ANY information regarding information on either Thomas Sr. or Thomas Jr. and their families it would be greatly appreciated!!

Dave, et al,
Please do not take offense, I am just trying to help. If of no help please
disregard, and I will shortly quit reading any of the Cleary-L messages. Where
was the 1881, 1891, 1901 census of this person (or family)? This mail you
have sent is of little use without some simple details. How about this person's
approx date of birth or death, or any other ancestors-descendants?, or family
members, siblings, parents, etc.?
You are obviously replying to some person named Maryse, but I can't see that
side of this correspondence, so I don't have a clue at all what this post is
about. The list is intended to be read by all subscribers, so don't understand
why it would be used to make a private post.
Like I said, just trying to help, and not sure what good you are doing
yourself or any other list members with this vague a post.
Best regards,
Jim McNamara

Hello,
I have been seeing very similar posts here and just wanted to say something
about this.
I know I do not have this family, however, I might, but I would never be able
to tell from this information. At the very least you need to say something
like this family lived in what location (Town-city-townland, county, country)
during what time period. My Clearys do have Michaels Thomases, Margarets,
Bridgets, Johns and Williams, but don't know about the rest..
Anyway, please consider giving more information than this. The only response
I normally give a mail like this is to delete it. Thanks for listening.
Jim McNamara.
