Hi!
My husband, Walter, is a member of this family. His father was James. Grandson of William. I also do not have much more information going back but I thought I would write and let you know his year of birth is 1882 in Hale Co. AL and he died in Sept. of 1939. We have a picture of his tombstone. How do you tie in to this family? To the best of my knowledge Tuscaloosa is the area they were from. Happy hunting!

The Methodist part is interesting, because that's what my Irish Cleary
forbears were. They came to Canada (near Montreal) in 1832. Anne Cleary Sennish

Lisa is the following any help to you ?
Cleary, Mary Maud daughter of Cleary, Thomas and Galligan, Bridget
7/18/1879
Sponsors: Cleary, Laurence & Cleary, Catherine
I found this among my Cleary notes and I'm unsure of the source but strongly suspect that it was from Corkery
Another note that I found :
"I have lots of information on the John Cleary/Mary Teevens family and some of their descendants. In fact Mary Maud Cleary, Catherine's neice married into MY Meehan family."
This was from Mary Jane Moss
Kissimmee, Florida
I do not have her email but I think that you may find her on the Teevens or Meehan message boards.
The Cleary family that I am searching for lived in Onslow Twp across the Ottawa river from Corkery, here are their details:
A marriage for a Thomas Boland and Catherine Cleary took place (or at least is listed in the records) at Notre Dame Cathedral on 24 Oct
1854. Thomas was the son of William Boland and Mary Maloney and Catherine was the daughter of Patrick Cleary and Bridget Coyle.
Can you make any connections to this Cleary family ?
