Not much --- unless the lineage I posted refers to your family.
The diaries & letters I have speak of siblings that moved to, and married in, Detroit and elsewhere (from the Peterborough, Ontario area) In conversation with my Grandmother Stella Cleary (b 1894) there is a general sense that opportunities for ambitious young Canadians lay primarily in the States at that time. Glad to transcribe relevant portions but need your connection.

Sorry, but not my CLEARYs as they stayed in Ireland and are still there. You
must be talking about someone else's post as I don't know my William's middle
initial.

I have a couple of the same names in my family as you. I am grasping as I am unable to get past my g-g-gfather. My great-grandfather was John Eldon Clary. His father was Henry and mother Elizabeth. We only have this info from Johns death cert. I am wondering if H in Williams name is Henry? John named one of his sons William Isom.John had brothers and sister(s) that he did not mention much, but did mention Georgey Charles or, Georgey and Charles. John was born in Iowa in 1859.According to census, the spelling of my Clary and Cleary have gone back and forth a couple of times. If any of this is familiar or if you have run into my line any help would be appreciated.
