I finally uploaded the entire paper. I was going to try to type it but
too many names.
Let me know if any of you find anything
so I know I haven't retained this paper for 12 years for nothing.

Hi Phil
This Michael Cleary is one of 10 children of Timothy and Mary MansField
Cleary
He was baptized June 3, 1821. His first wife was the sister of Col.
Patrick Cleary of Chicago. . He was not a relative. but his grandson,
Jack Downey , married Charlotte Spencer Cleary in 1853 after the death
of her husband, Mansfield Ralph Cleary. . Michael's second wife was Mrs.
Fanny Conran, a widow with one son, Isaac. Michael's children were ,
Timothy, Essie, and Mary - Sister Fidelis, a Visitation nun, who had
been teaching 34 years when she died December 8th 1927.
Diana,
I think I've found the family that my Michael Cleary born 1821 comes from,
but neither they nor I am 100% certain, and your letter from Jim Cleary
mentions a Michael born in 1821 as well. Do your papers include any more
information about this Michael Cleary son of James Mansfield Cleary?
Phil

there's too many names I have seen on this list that I can't ignore,
this is a genealogy. Jim Cleary the writer of this paper is a descendant
of James Mansfield Cleary, he continues to say:
James Mansfield Cleary and his second wife had two children before she
died in May 1859 at the age of 23 They were:
Michael Timothy Cleary B: Feb 26, 1855 (the writer states this is his
father)
Mary Kathrine Cleary (Edward A. Downey) B: Sept 8, 1858 died St. Louis,
Missouri
Michael's Timothy married Kate Theresa McPhelim Feb 26, 1884
will write more tomorrow, all of their children are listed and their
children's children many from michigan to chicago and st louis.
the writer was born January 19, 1887 and this was written in 1956, I
think much of this came from family and bibles. It doesn't say resource
but perhaps may help all of us.

I have had a paper in my records for over 12 years trying to link my
Cleary's to it. I have not been successful, however thought some of you
could use the information.
Its was originally submitted by Jim Cleary in 1956 to St Louis City
Library.
beginning with:
Timothy Cleary born abt 1800 on a farm called Newlands, near
Mullinahone, Country Tipperary, Ireland. Mullinahone is a village on the
river Anner on the slopes of the historic mountain Slieve-na-mon.
Timothy Cleary in 1818 married Mary Mansfield, born in 1798 daughter of
James Mansfield of Kylenaglenanna. Mary Mansfield's mother was Ellen
Cantwell of Ballyvoneen in the Vale of Compsey. She had a brother
Redmond and sisters Judith, Johanna, Kate (Mrs Burke).
I have had an interesting correspondence with Earmon Mansfield of 50
Walkingstown, Dublin who's grandfather Edmond was a brother of Mary
Mansfield Cleary. Mr. Mansfield has been described to me by one of his
friends, now living in Chicago, as a physical and intellectual giant. He
founded the Irish National Teacher's Organization and served several
times as its president. He was elected to the Senate of Ireland, was a
member of the Land Commission, was famous as a football player, writes
for newspapers and magazines on finance, economics and education. His
wife and sister were teachers, as are a son and a daughter (a nun). Two
other son's are engineers. Two brothers, (unreadable)
Thomas joined the famous "Fighting 69th" lost a leg at Qurque. Two of
Mr. Masfields daughters were doctors.
Mr. Mansfield writes, we have relatives in Ireland named Burke, Kennedy,
O'Brien, Costello, Comerfield, Tobin, Mockler, Mullally, Walsh,
Houlihan, Hennessy. He write particularly of Tim Burke, a grandson of
Kate Mansfield.
Timothy Cleary died in 1844 and during the following 20 years his widow,
Mary Mansfield, and all their children moved to St. Louis, Missouri. The
last of the children to leave Ireland was James Mansfield Cleary. They
came to St. Louis visiting brothers and sisters however moved on to
Chicago arriving there June 3, 1863.
there are baptism recordings here for all children.
Cathrine 1820
Micheal 1821
James 1823
Joanna 1826
Redmond 1828
Ellen 1830
Mary 1832
Margaret 1834
Bridget 1837
It does have exact dates listed here. Records in the parish church at
Mullinahone and were baptized by Father Walter Cantwell.
There's a lot of information in this 6 page paper if any of this sounds
like something let me know and I will type more of what it says.
